How so you guys think transgenders should participate in the Olympics? Do you think they should compete witht he gender they are born as or the gender they changed to? Or should they just add more groups like M to F trans?
Edit: I personally dont think trans people should be allowed to participate in the Olympics

Edited by Geth: 3/4/2015 12:16:37 AMThey should compete with the gender their born with. Would you let a transgender woman fight a regular women in a fight and expect it to be fair?
-
Olympics should be skill based, not gender based

Edited by Onion Beetle: 3/4/2015 7:19:57 PMYeah, let the special snowflakes get thrown into mens boxing and see what happens to them. Easy medals, easy life

What has the world come to where such a question is even asked? If you're male, you're male. If you're female, you're female. Live with it.
-
Well transgenders are a joke and I'm sure they're are no transgender in the Olympics.
-
Nope, unfair advantage for men who change to women.
-
It gives them an unfair advantage over the other people
-
I'm with OP. That just ain't fair.

Edited by Zonda: 3/4/2015 10:58:42 AMAny benefits to performance by being a Transgender in a Women's event would be minuscule at the Elite level (I think 5% Power output at the most). It wouldn't be worth it for Athletes after an "easy" win to change their Gender, as there is less coverage, and therefore sponsorship, of Female events, especially at World Championship events outside the Olympics. I say they should be allowed to compete as their current Gender, but I don't think I've seen any Transgenders at an Olympic event, aside from a 2006(?) controversy about whether a Woman who broke a 100m World record (sprint or hurdles) was a Hermaphrodite. Either way, I don't see it as a problem in Sports. Not least of all at the Elite level.

Just let them participate as if they weren't Transgender at all.
I may have a small thing against Transgenders but i still think they should have the same rights as everyone else.
I think you should compete with your birth gender.

Edited by Cheat: 3/4/2015 12:26:35 AMI'm with OP. Trans people shouldn't be allowed to compete in the Olympics because it would give MtFs an advantage due to their muscle mass. I mean...there's a reason you can't use steroids and compete in events like this; it's just downright cheating. On that note, we should also ban black people from the Olympics, since they are more likely to to better in physical activities than their white or Asian counterparts. I'd also consider an "African" bracket, where they can compete with their own group and not have such a huge advantage. Thanks for bringing this up, OP.

They're humans. It makes no difference whatsoever what their sexuality is when competing in sports.
-
They should, and are allowed to, however it can only be biological gender and they have to comply with doping rules. Which means those hormone therapies couldn't. They dont have super powers they are people like anyone else.
-
I would say that you compete as your legal gender. If you are still a female (but feel make inside, before transition) you compete with women. If you have changed sex and therefore have hormones injections you compete as the sex you have become.
-
Gender and sex are completely different things, gender is what's happening up in the brain that's telling you if you're male or female and sex is what's between your legs and sometimes gender and sex don't match up (which isn't their fault) which creates transsexuals.

The pain Olympics
Don't look it up its cringe
-
No, not if they want to participate in a gender specific event.
-
They should compete with the gender they were born with
-
I've never thought about this before but I believe they should compete with the gender they were born with.
-
They won't be allowed
-
Surely if we're all equals then there shouldn't be any M/F only events - but you don't see feminists rattling on about that do you. Checkmate Feminists.
-
If they made a universal one where teams compromise of both men and women then no problem?
-
Guys who turn into girls will have an advantage so..... They should get their own special type
-
Gender they were born as. That is what determines their physical attributes.
