you're just an average player. There isn't anything more to it than that. the middle line of all players is a k/d of exactly 1. anything higher than 1 is above average while anything lower than 1 is below average. for someone to have a positive k/d, someone had to go negative. that's how it works. you just aren't as good as you think you are. You can change that however by learning to use better strategies. In your case you seem to bring the fight to the enemy, which is probably what they want. Never rush around a corner if you think an enemy is in the next room unless you know you're taking him by surprise. Otherwise a shotty/fusion rifle/super is coming right in your face. You can throw a grenade in the room first too to catch them offguard, or call it out to team mates for help instead. knowing the maps is a really good first step. find where all the heavy ammo crates spawn, and make sure you're there when they do. In all honesty though, destiny PvP is filled with so much bullshit I wouldn't even worry about your k/d at all. Ive had games where 90% of my deaths were just from supers. really annoying and there isn't anything you can do about it, unless you get lucky. Bad team mates play such a major role in your k/d as well. it's a team game and if your whole team is sucking balls, so will you, just not as much as them. It's like putting a professional hockey goalie on a team of amateurs. He can't carry his team to victory alone, and I can guarantee he will let goals in. If you really want to see your k/d shoot up, find people to play with for communication. communication goes a long way. destiny isn't cod, so don't expect to be able to go all Rambo and single handedly win the game.

Stop firing off those rockets every time a teammates head pops in front of you and to K/D will shoot waaaay up.

i just got my kd just above that to about 1.07. I never played a pvp game before. This has been a coming of age experience. No matter what anyone says about not using the exotic primaries, most people use them that score well. They will make a difference, but most honest solid players will tell you that the bulk of their kills come from supers, special ammo and grenades. (These are usually warlocks and titans) There are really good hunters out there too, but the majority of good players i encounter are not hunters. A big thing i have noticed as a mistake in my own gameplay is pursuing fights where i did not hit the first shot, as far as primary gun fights are concerned. 9 outta 10 times the person that lands the first shot typically lands the second shot as well. You will almost always lose this fight unless the other person sucks. So many really bad, easily obtainable weapons in this game are very powerful. Things like the thorn, vex, last word should be overpowered. There is a task involved to get them, especially the vex. Vendor and random legendary weapons should not be able to do nearly the same damage as the exotics in the same class. But, sadly, the crucible is very broken.

Or you could try using a combo of blink to close the gap then shotty in tha face. Thats what i use when i go only shotty

It's because you foolishly limit yourself to guns that are not top tier. You think you're a scrub because you do well with The Last Word? What do you think the top players are using? Are they scrubs? Don't ever let other people shame you into using weapons you don't do well with or enjoy using. The developers put these guns in the game for you and everybody else to [i][/i]use [i][/i]. If you're are unhappy with your k/d it's your own fault. It sounds like you have the tools to improve it. If you are having fun running the weapons you are using, then your k/d doesn't matter.

Map awareness, taking advantage of heavy ammo spawns, latency. Knowing when to pop your super has a HUGE effect on given match as that and heavy spawns can really sway the direction of the match. Your teammates also play a very big role in your success. The people that play with arranged teams are always going to do better. If you come across an arranged team with good players who have played together for a long time. 9/10 times your gonna get the L if your team in a bunch of randoms and your going against an organized fire team.

It's all about play style. Stupid people will tell you kd don't matter because it's score that matters the most, but in all but 1 mode kills score you points. So the more points u have the better for your team. The better kd u have the more points for your team and less for the enemies team. You have to know when to rush and when to hold, it's not camping if a guy runs down the hallway to get killed by you only for him to respawn and run at you the exact same way. I simply call this shooting fish in a barrel. Staying calm and never panicking is key. There's games I've crush going more then 6k points and dying maybe 2-3 times. Also knowing your opponent, In the first few minutes you will be able to tell the skill level of most players. Highly skilled groups will always have two snipers at the back, the trick is to lure them out. Give them a glance at u, but just enough to make them shift positions. Once done correctly, u can walk up behind and mele FTw.
