Weapon/Armour Augmentation

Deej asked for feedback on what new features players would want to see in Destiny in the future, and while I had not thought of this at the time, I thought I'd add it in now. Many people are asking for weapon reforging for Legendary weapons outside of the Iron Banner, an idea I had was weapon augmentation, or the ability to change or add a damage type to the weapon, namely those with no existing one. I got the idea from the Fable games, and I think if done properly, this system could change the way player approach and strategise strikes, raids and maybe even PVP. Weapons: Take the existing reforging for exotics that Xur does and add another level to it. Add a new material type like "Solar particles, Arc Wind or Void Essence" and given the quantity is enough and by paying a reasonable amount of glimmer with an exotic shard or two an exotic weapon could be given a damage type. For instance weapons like Last Word, Bad Juju, Universal Remote and No Land Beyond. This wouldn't necessarily over power players as the reforging could only be done on weekends, days before the Nightfall resets. You can make this exclusive to exotics, or legendaries or give them both it. Existing weapons with damage types should not be reformable. Once you have the damage type, that's it. In addition, this might see people starting to complete exotic weapon bounties more frequently, so they may better kit themselves out in prep for the next strike. Armour: This one is important given the dilemma myself and a few other players have found themselves in after several weeks of running End of Crota. Most of us have all the weapons, or at least all the armour. And while I was happy at the more frequent drops of armour in comparison to Vault of Glass I didn't see many reasons to return to the Hellmouth other than to help my fellow guardian. I think if more armour sets made available, it would make people value the rewards again and make them frequent both raids again. Give all three classes 3 armour sets for each damage type. For example, for the titan there would be three different types of Willbreaker armour. A solar based helmet, arc based helmet, void based helmet and the same for all the other pieces of armour. Wearing a piece of armour with a damage type matching your subclass could give slight boosts to the burn damage inflicted on enemies. Wearing armour with no damage type or a damage type not matching your subclass would not bear any effect on your abilities or damage output. But wearing an entire suit of amour with each piece suiting your subclass could grant significant perks for your guardian such as longer radiance for Warlocks or revive nearby teammates, wall penetrating shots for Golden Gun, or temporary boosts to all friendly guardians who pass through Ward or Dawn. There wouldn't need to be any cosmetic change needed, just a stat indicating the damage type equipped to it. Even wearing a full set of void armour could significantly lower damage taken from enemies with void weapons. The reforging idea could even be applied to armour sets but I believe it should be given to existing raid sets and not added to them. Exotic armour should be able to be reforged with damage types but not legendaries. Anywho thanks if you read this far
