Don't junk that gun!

I'm sure there are many people already aware of this, but for those who aren't, it's actually more productive to hold onto the weapons and armour you don't want for a little while longer. If you aren't already, as you redeem the bounties you've picked up at both the Bounty Tracker and Eris, you should have the items equipped you want to rank up quicker, since redeeming them does that. However, quite often you'll find that you've got things equipped that you've already maxed-out (like your shiny exotic helmet), so none of your other items can get that extra boost. You'll probably also find that if you get an item you've already gotten you're probably immediately dismantling it: don't! If you max-out the experience points on an item, even without spending material and glimmer on any of the upgrades, you'll get extra rewards when you dismantle it. For example, each exp maxed-out weapon (even with no upgrade unlocks) I've been dismantling lately has been giving me a telemetry of the same type (ie. dismantling a scout rifle gives a scout rifle telemetry). You also seem to get an upgrade in materials given to you as well. Again, I'm sure this isn't news to a lot of people, but those who don't know about this might like to try.
