I have been contemplating the issue of the exotic drop system and how, after over 20 completed hard raids and countless exotic drops, I have yet to find a gjallarhorn (or any other tracking rockets for that matter). Obviously a quick solution to this would be for Xur to sell it or the Truth again, as I (and I'm sure many others) missed it the first time around. However, many would complain that "solution" would not be fair to those who "worked hard" for theirs. I tend to agree with that line of thinking. Yet, in a random drop system where some get exotics from joining late in crucible games and others have completed TONS more raids than me and are in the same boat as me, that point begins to become null and void. This is probably a non issue for a great portion of us, but i feel there are enough of you out there like me who are getting very frustrated. So, Bungie, while I'm sure these forums are alight with angry people who think they know better or that you don't pay attention to the gamers (which the latest update proves false), my suggestion/question is as follows. While the destiny economy is at risk of becoming bloated with an expanding list of currencies, reputations, and materials, the addition of one more may make everyone happy. If players could earn some type of raid token for completing "x" amount of raids (maybe 10-15 on one character?), then Xur could have a standing list of the most desirable exotics for sale. This idea could get as elaborate as an entirely new set of bounties and reputation and work much more like Vanguard or Crucible rep and commendations. Or, it could be as simple as finding some type of token, commendation, coin, or otherwise upon completion of "x" amount or raids (or some other milestone for that matter). This would allow those of us who feel that we have been shafted with exotic drops to get the weapons we need, while recognizing the hard work of those who earned their exotics. This type of idea or a similar one (like a new raid bounty set) could also serve to refresh the game quite a bit since it can feel somewhat grinding. I realize House of Wolves is not that far off at this point and am excited for it, but I would like to hear everyone's takes on this. Bungie (assuming any of you took the time to read this), I would greatly appreciate any of your thoughts on the topic. I am also curious to know; did you guys intend exotics to blow up and become as common place as they did? To me, part of the problem stems from the fact that exotics were meant to be, well, exotic; and that the game was meant to be played largely without them. What does everyone think?

  • Maybe you need to finish finding a certain gold chest & do something else.

  • They should make an exotic bounty for it that's twice as long as a normal one and make people go through PvP to get it like Thorn did. 500 void kills was a stroke of pure evil genius !

    • Bump. I have now completed almost 70 hard raids. And hundreds of roc strikes. Still no tracking rockets that aren't blue... Anyone else as frustrated as me?

      • Exotics in this game are so-called not because of the rarity, exclusivity, or value, they have one extra perk, look unique, and can only equip one weapon or armor.... that's it nothing more nothing less. I fully realize the term exotic in the real world denotes something rare exclusive and extremely valuable, but the sooner everyone accepts the game for what it is and moves on from that mindset the better. (Same could be argued about the lack of story, earners v xurners, nerf buff and on and on). The game is what it is... We all do try and make suggestions for not to be better here usually, but I also have to ask how it is you don't have a tracking rocket launcher? There are even blue (rare) ones that have tracking which will get you thru Crota normal, (or you could just aim for his feet and hope for the best) to acquire hunger of Crota launcher til you ever end up with the ghorn or truth, both of which are great regardless what the ghorn purists would lead you to believe, and believe me, keep playing you will eventually have every exotic.
