Uniqueness, Individuality, and Snowflakes

Since when did these qualities become so awfully obsessed over in a video game? Why do people want to quit when their false sense of individuality comes crashing down to harsh reality? Are you still able to accomplish the tasks you've set out to complete with 5 other characters looking identical to your own? Absolutely. This forum is flooded with people whining about characters looking similar to others. Destiny has nearly 13 million players, you are destined to come across many many people that will be exact copies of your character. Also, due to the fact that this is a console game, it's going to have definitive parameters. By virtue of the constraints of this game itself, you can never be truely unique. And how can this possibly affect the important aspects of this game, like skill or performance? I've played this game casually since the 3rd week it was out, and not once did I feel like someone's physical appearance in the game was going to change the way I play. When I noticed multiple fireteam members had similar powerful weapons, I was actually excited because I knew we could accomplish more in the time frame we could all play as a team. Remember the days of Halo 3 when you were Red or you were Blue, and you rushed for those weapon spawn points on a handful of different maps? We all looked the same, and it was ridiculously fun! If you want to be unique, put the controller down, and go be unique in your real life where you don't have parameters and anything can be possible! Destiny is just a game, sit back and enjoy it.
