I'm all for customization but transmog is the most cheesy way to deal with it. It's so fake and ruins the whole aspect of the game world. You can have lots of options in good gear without that Harry potter transmogrification nonsense.
You don't need phony magic tricks that alter appearances. You just need more gear and better ways of getting it
Gear should look like what it is on some level. It's like warcraft guys want the stats of full plate mail but want to run around in their boxer shorts. On some level it makes no sense. Raid gear is supposed to look a certain way. It doesn't have to all look the same, but it's appearance should reflect it's purpose.

Where is Gearhead31 when you actually need him.

This community is just lost...

The transmog there talking about is for your how your characters looks not the guns and armor.
-
On Transmog: why not put all the white background, uncommon (green) and rare (blue) items that already exist in the game to use by way of a mechanic that already exists (the way Xur upgrades exotics) in the game and allow for progressive upgrade of any and all armors and weapons?! This would serve many purposes, a big use for commendations, character customization and options, replay value (I would be glad to start completely over to pick and choose items to upgrade) It could work like this using the Khostov as an example. You take it to the gunsmith with a commendation and glimmer to have it upgraded to uncommon. Take it to the gunsmith again with a commendation, glimmer and some spinmetal and he upgrades it to rare. Now you want to go legendary? Take it to any of the legendary vendors along with a commendation, glimmer, spinmetal, and ascendant energy, and it goes to tower vendor comparable legendary. Want to get it to raid comparable legendary? You'll have to break down a raid item for a raid material and go to the speaker with that and a mote of light(s) to have it be raid comparable... This would be extra-grindey, be really expensive and time consuming and totally worth it so we can have that much more customization...or you could do a straight transmog with a special vendor that you just turn in and item with the looks you want and item with the stats you want and combine them...simpler, but maybe too easy??!!

Question? According to your account, you've barely started playing destiny. Level 2? Give it some time, cause based off that you don't have a lot of room to say it's stupid. The bottlenecking of gear is ridiculous. Variety is absolutely needed. Whether it's in the form of adding new gear, or transmog. I'm all for it, as are most players.
-
This is probably the stupidest post i've seen. I don't want to look like everyone else at end game. The only way to fix that is Transmog.
-
I don't care if I look like everyone else, because I don't care about what anyone looks like. All I care about is if you know what you're doing.
-
I agree. Why have one set of raid gear per class? But then, again, there's not much you can do when leveling up relies on "light." I mean, technically, they could make like 5 sets of gear each with 36 light, but realistically, it's kind of redundant when everything gets you to the same level. Bungie should have tried a little less to be innovative and tried a bit harder to not deliver a poop game.
-
Honestly, I'd only use class item transmog. Getting tired of looking at the DO cloak day after day but still want rep to go there...
-
Limiting customization is really stupid, you are really stupid.
-
Dude, gtfo that's all.
-
I agree. Everyone should look the same.

I Smell Salt.

In Runescape, it is just called, cosmetic override ... firsttime I saw someone say transmog, I was wondering what they were talking about.
-
Since level is based on how much light it contains. There should just be an upgrade path for all legendary armor or even rare upgrade into legendary. Adding more light makes it higher level. And more access to shaders.....its like attack of the clones....but worse than the movie lol
-
But weapons and armor raining down from the sky with a random assortment of abilities is totally different.... Okidoki.
-
I disagree. There's so few options when it comes to being nac level that everyone looks the same. If they added in more mac gear then that would be fine. But if they don't i think it would be a good option to have
-
I agreeeeee whole heartedly. We should be able to just grab and save perks on our characters as we experience them and transfer those perks and light levels to other gear using gunsmith and vanguard vendors. When we break down a piece of gear we should be awarded a light orb that carries light level for that specific type of piece ie. Light orb (Body)
-
RAID gear will always be the gear With the highest LIGHT level. So Transmorg is the only Way we would have by now. Ever played Diablo 3? It Works and it don't feel cheap
-
Why not both?
-
Can someone tell me how to do this i have no idea seriously
-
This...very much this^^^
