I stopped playing Destiny for Final Fantasy 14
I could finish all the end game Destiny content in a few hours give or take
I barely even scratch the end game FF14 content in a few hours (I can manage the towers in one evening), then I still have trials, dungeons and coil.....
Now we have golden saucer....hell if the Destiny tower was anymore devoid of life it would be a graveyard....
Destiny is like a scrawny / heavily cut down version....with the only good thing being solid shooting mechanics....they need a half dozen raids (where you are not totally beholden to RNG), they need more and better mechanics and really test the game....the level of cheese is a joke....
If you don't someone will do a an MMOFPS that has solid shooting and all the other stuff and Destiny will be gone....

1 ReplyI don't know how much better FF would be. Probably a lot of interesting things to do. That being said, I don't think a comparison between these games matters. The only reason destiny is so big is because it is the only game in the world that really does what it does. It is the only game that really blends FPS, sci-fi, fantasy, and MMO elements together. Traditional MMO combat gets boring. At endgame it is just the same tactics over and over that are the most successful. Shooter gameplay revived the MMO experience with Destiny. The last part of your post is what they have to worry about most. If another game comes out that can blend these same elements successfully and put more content in, Destiny is done. Until that day, Destiny will remain king because it just is the only game of its kind.

Been playing FF13 again lately. Its a fantastic game, not sure why people hate it so much. Lightning is my most favorite protagonist in a FF game so far and I've played most of them! Will maybe try 14 one of these days but I don't know if I can handle another mmo these days.

1 Replyplayed lots of ff14.. the only problem I have with the game is the fact that you can't play yourself out of a mistake.. end game requires exact clicks.. and if even one of your party has a lackluster Internet you will wipe over and over.. all due to a server side (or lack of) live state.. great game.. but has its flaws just like all the "mmos" do..

2 RepliesPeople complain about looking like everyone else in this game. [i]Everyone[/i] playing the same class in FFXIV plays and looks the same. There is almost 0 customization after character creation. Fun, but extremely limited.

5 RepliesI stopped playing FF14 to play Destiny both are good games but I enjoy Destiny more because of the shooting aspect. I find in ff14 after you know rotation of your class and learn the boss fights it becomes too predictable. I find Destiny has that added gun skill which makes the game different every time. It's just down to preference really.

I was running Ramuh EX for the first time, and we couldn't clear it (pf group, got him to 11%), and I'll I could think was, I ain't even mad. You know why? Because it's not just a bullet-sponge boss, it's complex mechanics that require the players to execute difficult tasks at all times during the fight. It's difficulty the way it's supposed to be, not this virtual difficulty Bungie pushes on us. What server are you on? [spoiler]Won 10K MGP on my first scratcher. Here's hoping on the lottery![/spoiler]
