has anyone killed the gatekeeper on hard Crota?
Does it do anything like give health back or something? Or does it just waste time?

I shot it directly in the scrotum and then bungie showed up at my house and murdered me.

It's there to keep you from camping that bottom room.

Ya I can confirmed this. Killed it twice but nothing happens, just another gatekeeper spawns....so its just to make people not go down there

I soloed it and dropped him for fun to see what would happen, and nothing happened, he just respawns again eventually but not right away

Not worth it my team did it the first day hard mode dropped.

2 RepliesNada. Just there to stop people from doing low mid strat. Next patch will have those bird spike things on the window ledge (like people use to keep pigeons off things) to keep people from doing the mid strat completely.

It didn't do anything that I noticed. I watched KingGothalion on twitch do it week one of release.

It's in my recordings on Xbox one . A team I was with managed to kill him but nothing happened. Honestly we were hoping for a loot drop lol or more of a chance for a better loot drop

Doesn't do anything killed him when we were wiping to get someone in just there to stop people going down mid and another spawns with next sword bearer

He drops a chalice when you kill him
