So please before you get upset, I'm not at all bragging or calling myself an elitist. On the contrary, I love helping others learn weather it's raids, nightfalls or just daily missions on hard.
So to my point, I've been playing destiny almost daily since September; I've been playing for a couple of weeks now, without any goals or achievements in mind. I have ever single weapon (exotic and raid to be specific) as well as ever single piece of armor (exotic and raid). Why do I still play this game? What is my motivation? What's there to do pve wise? Anybody else in my shoes? Over 80 exotic shards, 100 radiant shards, 32 radiant energy. House banners to feed guardians in tower for weeks...
I still get on everyday to chat with clan mates and help others, but once done I find myself not wanting to do anything on my own anymore. And this is perhaps staying this way until may now.
Your input is greatly appreciated
PS. I obviously don't have fate of all fools. Not sure it's yet attainable, beside sick kid.

Fill up your vault with exotic and legendary engrams for the DLC drop...your welcome.
-
Did you make one of each class ? I just made a hunter and its completly different from a warlock...same game diffrent style
-
I am getting this problem slowly and I am no where near obtaining every exotic as you have. I'm not bothered. Just wish this game had more content. Taking a break may help, or even setting challenges if you are bothered to complete them. Maybe experimenting with the most random set of skillsets in your subclasses to give your characters an alternate fighting style.
-
Not an elitist, but a completist. Now ask yourself, what happens when we complete things? We move on or teach, although it seems your motivation is lacking in the latter. Take a break, take a holiday, play another genre.
-
Honestly the best advice I can give is just take a break. Give it a week or two before you sign back into Destiny. If that doesn't work you can always just wait until House of Wolves.
-
The first thing you need to do is reword this :p There seems to be a lot of people struggling to understand that you've been bored for a couple of weeks, but have been playing a lot longer
-
Haha... laughing my ass off at all the idiots trying to call you out because they just assume if your account isn't linked on bungie.net that you are lying. Love how you put them in their place, but considering how stupid most of the trolls are, they'll forget the lesson by tomorrow and be trolling someone else less prepared. That's awesome that you help out others, and even though I don't have nowhere near the completion you do, I've done everything I really want myself (play on PS4 and XB1, so run six characters). After I do the weeklies/nightfalls and sometimes an occasional raid, I feel the same way if no one else is on and with nothing left to do. Destiny used to be a 'play every day' game, but now its dwindled down to 2-3 days a week. Honestly though, I think that is to be expected. The level of longevity and actual hours many people have put into Destiny puts tons of other games to shame. It has the structure and addictive nature of an MMO. True it lacks a monthly fee (and is instead supported by incremental DLCs), but the problem is its also lacking in regular new content. With so much investment in time, acquisition of items, and building a social structure (yeah, I use that term loosely, but if you're like me you have lots of people on your friends list that play Destiny) around the game it allows Destiny a little leeway, because people won't just drop off immediately (unless they are just those type of people, and nothing Destiny could do would keep them anyway). But if they continue with long stretches of no new or novel ideas/events, eventually people are just going to get bored, and the tedium of doing the same thing will eventually take away the value of everything that players have acquired. They'll just stop signing on. So in essence, Destiny isn't going to go up in flames, and die by the release of the next big game, or a giant boycott of angry players, or anything like that. It'll just fade away into the recesses of lost nostalgia and bitter sweet memories... (Here's to hoping that doesn't happen, but in their current direction it seems a probable scenario). Anyway, sorry for the absurdly long response, just throwing out my two cents for whatever its worth, and I tend to be long winded.

Not into PvP huh? All I have left to do is help my friends with the raid here and there, and hopefully get a group going for Crucible funziez
-
I'm close to where you are and I'm feeling the lack of motivation to continue. I too love to help people but most of my friends are starting to abandon destiny for other games. I still want to play destiny because I still have hope that it can get better. I've seen some people try to do the raids with self imposed limitations such as melee atheon on nm. Maybe get your clan to come up with custom events to run.

This happened to me before DB. I went on a 2 month break. I may do it again soon.
-
We have the same TV lol
-
Find a different game to play.
-
Move on, I suggest dark souls (get primed for bloodborne, or dark souls 2 first sinner) Or one of any other great game that you haven't played yet
-
You have all 3 characters? Or just 3 hunters to max the one?
-
I feel ya, I've been working on grimoire personally but after that, what? It needs more content for me to remain entertained for too much longer as well. But, I've played for over 700 hours! That's insane, so, I applaud Bungie non-the-less. ;)

Edited by Laedywen: 2/21/2015 6:59:23 PMwe are all in the same spot man. i mean i have 850+ ascendant sharda 200 ish raidiant materials im playin since the release nothin to do. be pissed at bungie if you started this game around december tho bungie made it too easy for you. makin lvl 31 gear on vanguard : everyone finsihed crota within 1.5 month so they actually shortened the game for new players
-
If you have everything you said you have and got it within a couple weeks, get off here and buy a lottery ticket lol
-
couple of weeks
you have over 8 weeks in game, Thad what is throwing people off. Saying that you have all of the gear in 2-3 weeks

Edited by Jasssen: 2/21/2015 6:36:30 PMLink your account I wont believe it till I see it
-
Edited by Frozen_Expo: 2/21/2015 6:46:20 PMOk... bungie doesn't expect you to have all 3 level 32 charaters and all raid and exotic equipment, that's just pure game-head with no breaks. I play destiny, yes, but I have other games too ya know, i'm not gonna wake up every morning and turn on my ps4 just to play destiny, im gonna go on youtube, or play call of duty or something, playing the game everyday will cause you to get bored of it. Understand? #GiveItABreak
-
"A couple of weeks"? I call BS. I've had the game since day one and accumulated around 20 days of total play time. You have 28 days+ of total play time. That's four weeks of 24 hour a day gaming. A couple of weeks? Puh-lease.

For now my home is crucible and the occasional raid. Still no other game that allows me to shoot things with so many friends.
-
I play crucible when my clanmates arent on. The rest of the time im just jumping around at the tower
-
So what is the question?
-
Just play to have fun, which mostly means with other people in my experience.
