Here we go. Part VI of the Ascension: Send Hell away. Enjoy. Feel free to like, comment and hit that pole! Thank you everyone for your support! My eyes glowed like green embers. They were focused on this face, that I had no clue as to whom it belonged to, but my fingers were clenched tight around his throat regardless. I heard shouting but I couldn’t see anything except this pale face that was beginning to turn apple red. His hands held tightly onto my forearm, trying to break my grip, but I wasn’t going to, he’s a threat and like all threats, must be eliminated. “Move in! But hold your fire! Wait for my signal!” The captain screamed as he took three long strides towards me and this soldier, the rest of his squad moved in around me, closing the gap. “Who are you? What do you want from me?” I spoke in my otherworldly language, but only received a stare of horror in response from the soldier. “Do not kill it! Please! I beg of you!” I heard the scream come from somewhere, jibberish, none of the words made sense to me. “It’s going to kill Jenkins! Captain! Permission to shoot?” One of the lieutenants yelled as he stood off to the right, only a foot or two from where I lay in the sand. “Hold your fire damn it!…” Then the captain charged in. The speed at which he gathered in that short distance and sinking into the sand, was lackluster to say the least, but he let gravity do the work for him as he fell towards me. I was hopeless to defend myself and completely unprepared for what came next. The metal butt of the captain’s gun, slammed into my face with a brute force that almost sent me back into unconsciousness. I immediately released my grip on the soldiers throat as the pain washed over my face. Then I could taste it, the chalky, bitterness that was my inky blood in my mouth. Instinctively, I began to thrash my right arm wildly, swinging at anything, trying to protect myself. I tried to sit up but the pain swept over me. My legs felt like two rubber bands that I couldn’t remove from the sand they were buried in. I wiggled around like a worm, trying to get up, trying to get to my feet, but I couldn’t. The harder I scrambled to get out, the more the wet sand sucked me in. Then, I heard a noise unfamiliar to me. It was some sort of cackling noise that the soldiers were making. They all stopped their advance and they just stood there. Weapons at their sides, all huddled around me...laughing at me. “Jenkins, get the f*ck over here you dumbass.” One of the other soldiers called and the man they called Jenkins, the one I almost killed, took a knee outside of the circle trying to catch his breath. “T..t...that thing...a..almost..k..k..killed me…” Jenkins choked out. “It’s a shame it didn’t. Then we wouldn’t have to worry about you crop dusting the shit out of us in the war room anymore.” Replied one soldier. “Screw Jenkins. What are we going to do about this thing? I mean, look at it. It looks like a retarded one-legged crab trying to f*ck itself!” Jeered another. The captain of the team was back to his feet and moved over to Jenkins. I watched him out of my peripheral vision, which was blurry from the blow to my face. I stopped moving and just lay still. “We shoot it in the f*cking head and dump this trash back into the ocean.” The captain looked around at his men. “I’ll have that honor, of course. Prepare to move out.” The captain turned from his men and started to trudge through the sand--to end my life. Blink. This man, clad in white, simply vanished from the spot where he was standing and appeared, standing a few inches from the top of my head. He held his arms out by his sides, his hands opened slightly, like a surfer maintaining his balance. The sun shone brightly off of his white helmet. Something strange about him, I thought I could feel a throbbing, a gentle pulse of energy radiating off of him… “I would strongly recommend, Captain, that you leave this creature be.” Something in his voice, I had no idea what he was saying, but I felt a calmness take over me. The captain wasn’t expecting for the warlock to blink like he did, and stepped back several feet from him. “Leave him be? Don’t forget who gives the orders out here, mutant. We don’t owe you a f*cking thing, nor do you tell me what to do.” “Mutant is it?” The white cloaked man chuckled. “Mutant indeed. Simply because I am smarter than all of you, and stronger, in addition to my unlocking many secrets of the universe that even the most brilliant minds of science only dream of.” “This is your final warning. I’m only going to say this once, so you better be paying attention. Get the f*ck out of my way, or you’ll wish you had.” He glared hard enough to burn a hole through the man in white. “If you want to shoot this poor creature, you will have to go through me.” In a sudden burst of bright orange light and heat, a surging orb appeared in his right hand, which he held high above his head. The sparks rained down on me, the bright glow lit up the beach, despite it already being bright, it crackled and popped with energy. Flames engulfed the white figure’s cloak, helmet and arms and danced all around him, but it didn’t seem to harm him. I could feel the intense heat from his ball of fire and it brought back painful memories of cooking inside my ship. All of the soldiers immediately retreated back to their military vehicles they arrived in, running in fear for their lives; only the captain remained. “You're going to pay for this, freak. This isn’t over. We haven’t even begun.” The captain didn’t wait for a response, he turned and fled for the convoy of trucks as well. The fireball just hung in the air. Without summoning it, a little cube seemed to materialize out of nowhere and hovered next to my protector’s helmet. “Sir, I’m aware that this may be against all of our beliefs and everything that we hold dear; however, should word make it back to their Commander about what we did here, more may be at stake than this creature that you wish to save.” “I know, Cube. I know all too well…Once again, science will require the sacrifice of the insignificant.” His voice sounded grave; rebukingly, he sprang into the air. He was about ten feet up when he threw his flaming ball of mayhem at the convoy. Mayhem it was, for when it hit, the explosion was so forceful, it pulled me out of the sand and sent me tumbling into the shallow, breaking waves of the ocean. Gasoline ignited, trucks and heavy metal blew to pieces, thick black smoke wafted high into the air as the carnage wiped out everything in it’s path. The man in white, landed back in the sand where he had jumped from. “Cube...would you please, contact the Administration and tell them that there has been a horrendous, unforeseen accident. Also, you are going to have to disrupt all surrounding satellite images and feeds. Take them offline, black them out, erase them, do whatever you have to do to cover up…” He couldn’t finish the sentence, he just dismissed his little cube as he lowered his head towards the ground. He turned and slowly walked towards me. The destruction he had caused at his back, then he was standing over me, looking down me. I couldn’t see his eyes, but I felt them connecting with mine. “Do not be afraid. I have much to show you.”...
