Quite literally out of nowhere, an idea for a piece of Exotic Warlock armor occurred to me. The idea doesn't have anything to do with the look, name, or description (Bungie's way better at that stuff), but what I think would be a fun game mechanic that doesn't terribly upset the balance of the game. It also isn't all that complicated from a design perspective, and would be (relatively) easy to code. Imagine Warlock armor that simply removes the flight time of your Nova Bomb and grenades. You just aim, fire, and watch your Warlock rip apart space; instant explosions on demand. Super precise with Lance, or spread out with Shatter. Maybe even throw in a new animation, to reflect that the energy isn't being projected forward by the hand. And if Axion Bolts appearing out of nowhere seems like it'd be hell in the Crucible, limit it to Scatter Grenade, it needs some love since it's the only one that doesn't get any bonuses whatsoever from the subclass or armor selection. Thoughts? Suggestions? Troll comments? Bring em on.
