Brainstorm for ideas to revitalize the Seventh Column (Bungie Community for you newbies)

Title says it all. Any ideas? I figure the best way to save the community is to do so AS a community.

  • Bring back some of the older stylings of the community. Bungie needs to acknowledge those of us who stuck by them and not just with a colored bejewled blitz shield in the profile banner. You look around the website and it barely acknowledges it's history. It's all tucked away and obscured and pushed aside like they don't really want any association with who they are anymore. The jokes and humour is gone. Shot dead like a lame dog. And we wonder why so many of the older members left or are in hiding... I'd also say that the 'Community' forum should be reclaimed as 'Septagon'. It's old school and reminiscent of the early Halo days, but not a Halo-centric item. I think that would go a long way towards stopping the recruitment threads that have spammed the forum because of it's name alone. We get spammed here because we are the community. Newer members make the connection that like minded folk would be hanging out here waiting to be asked about Destiny and if we can hold their hand through a raid or whatever. Re-naming us the Septagon would give the newer folk pause to think before they post. Maybe even encourage then to check out the community and try their hand at quality posts if they think there is a level of exclusivity here. You don't see threads for recruitment in off-topic very often because it's off-topic. Simple. I used to say that we as the more senior members should be the ones to guide the new kids and educate them in the ways of the community, but with the forums and website design not changing, senior members having more in common with hens teeth, ninjas really being like ninjas and being invisible, and employees not being involved with the shambles, I now believe that Bungie needs to step in and set some ground rules. They made the forums this way. They got rid of a system that was loved and worked and frankly, isolated large quantities of their once dedicated community. They need to get involved.
