Community Focus – Jogging Zombies

Our focus this week is a streamer who loves playing Destiny, cracking jokes in chat, and just sitting back to kick it with his viewers. He sat down to tell us a few things about himself before heading down to Tampa to join other members of our community for the celebration they call GuardianCon.

Please join me in welcoming Jogging Zombies to the stage.

Welcome to your Community Focus! Tell us a little bit about yourself and what your role is in the Destiny Community

JZ: Hey there! My name is Jogging Zombies, and I’m a 23-year-old goober on the internet who plays video games. Gaming has played a big part of my life growing up with two brothers who I would constantly compete with. Some of my best memories growing up were Halo LAN parties with a bunch of friends while enjoying some competitive couch co-op all day. My role in the Destiny Community is a simple one: I always aim to entertain. Sometimes that is in the form of good games and good plays, but most of the time it ends up being general goofiness. My goals are that and to be an active part of the community that my stream has created. Being able to have a positive influence on someone, even if it is one person, is enough to drive me to continue every day.

Good goals to have. Where can we find you on the internet?

JZ: You can find me attempting to shoot things at, and when I’m not there, I’m tweeting about how bad I am at shooting things at

Alright, let’s find out what kind of Guardian you are. What is your favorite Subclass and weapon?

JZ: The weapon is a simple answer. The No Land Beyond. When it first dropped for me, I thought “why would anyone use this gun,” until I started using it to mess around, and I realized the potential it had. I ended up using only the NLB-Sidearm combo all throughout The Taken King and Rise of Iron, even during the shotgun meta… gasp. As far as subclass goes, it’s a tossup. My first class was Warlock, and my beautiful Voidwalker will always be at my side. I run Nightstalker 80% of the time when I am playing Trials. It’s tough, but if there was a Matador 64 to my head, I’d have to go with Nightstalker.

No Land Beyond is a fun gun to use if you have the patience. Tell us about your channel. What can we expect to see if we stop by?

JZ: Mass confusion. Nah, I just aim for everyone to have a good time. Entertainment is such a beautiful thing: it allows us to break free from the hardships and frustrations of the world, giving us the opportunity to relax and take our mind off these things. I always aim to have a fun and entertaining stream where I choose to be an active part of my stream’s lives. Being myself is another thing I put a lot of importance on. You can come into my chat as yourself. There are no requirements, no agendas, and no titles. Just come in and say hey, I’m always willing to talk about pretty much anything! You’ll also see me laughing at my own jokes and on occasion, some halfway decent plays.

Sounds like a chill place. How did you first get into streaming?

JZ: I didn’t even know what Twitch was up until two years ago. I saw a friend watching a Destiny streamer, and noticed how much this person really cared for their viewers and their surrounding members. After finding out about Twitch, and becoming inspired by some of the incredible members of this community, I decided that I wanted to commit to streaming. I already had played the ever-living heck out of the game as is, I figured I might as well be streaming it! I really wanted to create something that was more than just gameplay. Being able to have an impact through a video game might be one of the coolest experiences ever.
You got to play Destiny 2 at the reveal event, what did you think? What are you looking forward to most in Destiny 2?

JZ: The event was an experience that I will never forget. The setting was incredible. Honestly, there are so many things I am excited for that I could just go on and on about; however, the most notable things were: the in-depth storytelling and cut scenes in the campaign, along with more implementation of the lore, AND playing with NPC’s like Zavala; the 4v4 structure for PvP, the adjusted gun system, the new class abilities (which are amazing), along with the new and improved subclasses! And most importantly, being able to play on PC. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on the mouse and keyboard and WOW, the gameplay was flawless.

Anything else you would like to add before we wrap this up?

JZ: I’m absolutely honored to be considered for this Community Focus. I’ve been playing Destiny since day 1, and I really couldn’t have imagined back then how much this game would impact my life for the better. I started off with no connections, just a controller and a webcam. I was welcomed with open arms by this community (and their managers), whether it was meeting someone at GuardianCon, raiding with some buckaroos, or having a random dance session at the Tower. I can’t wait to see what Destiny 2 has in store for us. I plan to continue being myself and striving to become the best version of me, all the while laughing at my own jokes and sharing good times with everyone I get to interact with. I enjoy spending time with my community and helping people go to the Lighthouse, playing custom games, or just being able to sit back and kick it with my viewers! Y’all should stop by some time, I’ll probably butcher your usernames!

Thanks for stopping by Mr. Zombies. We always love meeting new members of the community who are doing great things.

Make sure you check out Jogging Zombies channel and give him a watch. It sounds like a good vibe.

We are already looking for our next individual or individuals to shine our spotlight on. If you have any ideas we would love to hear them. Make a post on our forum with the tag #CommunityFocus and we will take a look.
