Headsets

So I've been trying to get my Turtle Beach x12 to work on the ps4 with some success. I can get chat audio and if I want game audio in the headset but the mic wont work. I know T beach developed a ps4 chat cable, however I have an adapter that allows me to connect to the controller and do the same thing. I've looked up various ways to try and get this to work with no luck. Am I just screwed clanmates? Or maybe there is some magical fix we can find together! Quick overview of what I've done in case any of you are bored and want to try to help. I plugged in the usb to the ps4, I've connected the headset to the controller. I can hear chat audio/game audio. I've tried adjusting the output from chat audio to all audio. I don't have a dds. I have all the updates installed. Microphone adjustments are grayed out when it's plugged it so it just isn't picking it up.
