Recently starting reading D&D rules
And now I bought two manuals and started trying to figure out how to play and force my siblings to play. Was this a bad decision?

No absolutly not. DnD can further expand the mind and make people be very creative with their minds and it can one hell of a time to play so you mad the god damn right decsion!
