Let me start off by saying that I really enjoyed Destiny for the first couple of months after launch, but really only for 2 major reasons. 1: My license had been suspended not long before it released so for several months I couldn't really do a whole lot. I didn't really 'go out' much and it provided something for me to play and occupy my time with after work. 2: It was really the only decent game out at the time. I had just gotten done with DS2 and was running out of new games to get into. I really believe that's the only reason it was as successful as it was, it released in a 'drought'.
Now with that being said it had a fairly shitty launch, loads of connection errors, bugs, glitches, lack of content, HIGHLY repetitive content, lack of basic features that there is no excuse for. I could go on and on and on. Not news to anyone that's played since launch.
However now that more games are releasing I'm seeing more and more people dropping off the player base. Pretty simple explanation as to why too. The game is incomplete, overpriced, and run by a bunch of monkeys. Seriously Bungie, you call this anything close to an MMO??? Thank God ESO(Elder Scrolls Online) is releasing for the consoles with all the content of hundreds of hours and all the features released thus far this year. It's going to be a little hard to explain this games shortcomings once the masses play an actual MMO on their console and wonder why you can't produce quality, lengthy, non-repetitive content yourselves. Especially since your game costs $60 and then your overpriced 'expansions', if you can even call them that, on top of that. Unless when House Of Wolves releases and it actually adds something new to the game, not just unlock it off the disc, your idea of what an expansion is, is a flippin joke! An expansion is not your average DLC, which is what I would call your 'expansions' at best, and that's being generous. An expansion adds hours of NEW content such as quests, locations, items, abilities, skills, etc.
Hours Bungie, not one. I can do all of The Dark Below in an hour minus the Raid which is nothing compared to Vault Of Glass btw. I actually liked that. What happened to that kind of design philosophy?
I'm done here and I don't see this '10 year' game lasting long. It's been several years in the making and it looks like it took a couple to make at best. You really F***ed up getting in bed with Activision. Clearly their mere presence can poison the greatest of potential. I do sincerely hope this game eventually becomes the one that I envisioned years ago, and if that day comes I may return. That is if I decide to leave Tamriel first! Peace

Um, didn't you hear? ESO was a colossal failure

I'll see you there in a few months haha

Can't wait to hop on the elder scrolls online.. Atleast THAT game was actually being made for years. They've been working on it since before skyrim and longer... Gonna really show us how good a game can be

Edited by Bullet in the Head: 1/30/2015 4:37:11 PMI played ESO, and honestly I hated it. Not nearly as fun as Destiny. Let me also add that I have a lot of complaints about Destiny but realize that to become a perfect game, it takes time and requires a lot of tweaking. People need to be more patient. The game is still in infancy. Destiny has the potential to be one of the greatest games of all time, and I am in it for the long haul. I have met some really cool people playing this game too, which is unusual for online games now a days. You can forget about finding cool people in ESO because they will all still be playing Destiny.

Don't know about ESO, but I'll say this: I've always thought Call of Duty sucked nuts. On a recommendation from a friend, I picked up Advanced Warfare from a friend. Not only is it better than old CoDs, but it is better than Destiny. Which is kind of sad. By the way, not wanting Activision to get any more dollars, no matter how few, I picked it up used. Probably made me feel a little bit better about that too!

Edited by Nourface: 1/30/2015 4:17:30 PMESO is a pile of shit. It baffles me that people feel this is their saving grace. You are a bunch of morons. That game is shit on a stick

I've already moved on to playing other games I'll be back when HoW comes out because I bought the collectors edition of the game, but once I finish that content (which will probably only take an evening or two), I probably wont be buying any other expansions unless HoW totally blows me away. I doubt it though.

ESO sucked so much dick destiny beat it down and thats saying something.

Wait, so ESO is not repetitive? And it's super grindy slow boring action is real content? You lost me there. (Personal preferences, but me, I enjoy a good action shooter with in your face explosions! And if you are bored, run sword on Crota in CE: hard - most fun I've ever had playing a video game! It gets your heart pumping!)

Question: Will Xbox/PS/PC all share a server? I know it usually isn't like that... But it would be interesting.

Bump.

Well said amigo.

Not to burst your bubble but I heard from many friends that ESO is TRASH, it's still worth a shot for yourself if your a big fan of the franchise tho. Best of luck guardian.
