Questions for Destiny Developers.

Hey Bungie!! I have a couple questions for you to answer :) If I have a 40 Mbps download and 15 Mbps upload why would I be placed in a lobby where I empty my full mag on the rivals body without him dying to see him turn back on me and get me killed? I mean the guy is literally walking to a wall...meaning he has walmart wifi for his connection. What the hell am I supposed to do to have one good match in crucible? I mean the game was fun back then when everyone had a good match online but know it's like winning the lottery if you're hosting the match. And why are fireteams consisting of players that have 3+ KD playing against team that have lvl 5 and lvl 10s using the worst guns in the game? This latency thing has to stop, if someone has a bad connection place them in a match where everyone has bad connection. Otherwise this is ruining the online experience for many players and there has to be a solution to this problem. Keep in mind that this is occurring on a next gen console (PS4).

  • Your not alone in wondering what is going on here (I'm on Xbox One). I played Crucible today (Jan 15, 2015) for the first time in several months and it lagged between 200 to 500 ms. Every time i tried playing Crucible, it's the same laggy experience - most of the time it feels like I'm wading through feces. And you can not kill people with 500 ms / 0.5 second sof Lag. I have 52 Mbps down, 11 MBps up, no other devices on my connection or using bandwidth, my NAT is open and MS says my ping time to their servers is 35 ms. I have confirmed that my ping times via SpeedtTest.net and also pinging the local ISP server are in the 20 to 30 ms range. I'm in Calgary Alberta Canada too and most traffic in canada is routed east <-> West and then down the coasts into the USA. PvP in Destiny is just sad - it's almost as bad a multiplayer in Halo 4 or BF 4 is. Note that I do not have issues playing Destiny PvE or PvE Strikes. Occasionally PvE Raids will lag, but never ever as consistently bad as Crucible does. Before someone chants the "it's your connection" - that's not the case. TitanFall shows ping times of in the range of 40 to 60 ms for the Chicago server. When I play TitanFall, it's 99.9% always real time - and I can actually use a precision weapon to kill people. I really want Bungie to come clean and tells us where we are connecting by showing us actual ping times to server (as numbers not some stupid green bar)and where the server is located (i.e. Chicago, LasVegas etc).
