Back to Bo'Ark.
Part 1:
Bo’Ark: Driven by xeno-anthropology after being influenced by observing the Cabal for almost a year, Bo’Ark-26 is an exo that was manufactured in a factory on Mars. Not long after the collapse he went blank and shut down, just like the other exos. It wasn’t until sometime afterwards that a Ghost, searching for a Guardian to serve the light of the Traveler, found what he was looking for; a flicker of light, contained in a metal frame hidden by years of sand and debris. Excitedly, the little ghost began surging energy into this fallen hero, and soon the lifeless corpse began to twitch and move. After awakening, Bo’Ark-26 (unaware of his name) climbed up from the sand and scrap, looking around inquisitively and meeting the eye of his new ghost.
The ghost is about to catch him up to speed when a thunderous boom is heard nearby. The pair flee amongst the sand and scrap, sticking to the shadows, and see a giant ship dropping off large foot soldiers that the ghost addresses as cabal. He recommends that they keep moving to avoid detection, but Bo’Ark is mesmerized by these strange beasts. A worried statement from ghost grabs his attention and they begin to leave the area, he looks back again, curious and curious-er…
About an hour later they find a suitable area to hide, a large ship like structure half buried in sand. His ghost begins to properly introduce himself, its name is Aegis, and he has been sent by a being known as the Traveler to find very specific warriors to fight against the darkness. Bo’Ark, looking at his arms and hands while Aegis describes his mission, notices some nearly perceivable characters on the lower wrist. His ghost grabs his attention again by mentioning the cabal. Bo’Ark’s head snaps to a dead lock with Aegis, he speaks for the first time since awakening. “What are they, WHO are they?” Aegis looks at him, hesitating and expressing what could only be perceived as the cycloptic floating robot equivalent of shock, and finally answered: “They are a war loving species, an invasive and aggressive enemy of the Traveler, indirectly at least. They-” Bo’Ark speaks up again, “There MUST be more to them than that... there must be” Bo’Ark glances down at his wrist again. Readjusting his eye on Bo’Ark he asks “What more do you need to know?” Bo’Ark looks up again, locking eyes with his float-y companion. “Everything…”

Bump for maintenance.

Bumping for later.

This shows promise! I like the fact that the story begins on Mars instead of the Earth, like many others. Going to post this to the main thread. Do try to continue the series a bit!

Good story Merauder

Great job Merauder! :D

Interesting. I rarely see fiction written in present tense. But I like it. I look forward to the next installment.

I'm glad I came across this reading over part 1 of your re-awoke series. This Exo character you've began to create has left me questioning, "Why does he immediately find a fascination in the Cabal?", "Does he somehow feel connected to them?", "Does he remember from before being shut down and if so, what exactly?" Lol. This small intro has got me hooked. Can't wait to read more of Bo'Ark.

Awesome job man, I hope to read more. I like the change of setting, for once the guardians weren't found on earth XD
