how to message
Recently got a Xbox 1 and I love it and hate at the same time, guess something I must get used too. But only thing that makes me utterly confused is how do I message people or send game invites to people that are complete strangers, that are not friends nor recent players, can some one tell me ?

Use the roster menu in the Destiny pause screen. You can inspect players and send them invites straight from there.

Go to --> friends --> find someone -->. Enter the gamer tag -->. Send message/invite/etc
