A Psychology Question

I am curious. Did Freud offer any explanation as to how the Oedipus complex would affect transgender and homosexual individuals? Note: I am aware that many of Freud's theories are no longer considered by many. I am just wondering if he offered any explanation for this.

To my knowledge, no. However it could seemingly work the same, but with the same sex parent. But in my personal opinion, I don't think it applies because of what the actual Oepidus complex is, and I don't think humans have the ability to be "born" transgender/homosexual. I don't personally look down on these people, however it simply does not make sense if humans instinctively wish and are biologically able to procreate and care for offspring that they can be born with the stigma of doing the opposite. The Oepidus complex is different from what it's name suggests (the name is from an old story Oepidus Rex, where a man unknowingly falls in love with his mother) where it specifically is the sexual attraction formed in childhood of the opposite sex parent. This happens due to sexually attractive hormones being similar to the ones given off when being cared for. I don't believe a child/infant can exactly be homosexual or transgender yet, because I believe life experiences and interactions subconsciously cause this change in sexuality with an individual whose mind can let go of instinctual convictions. So if they can't fall into these categories of sexuality, then the Oepidus complex would not be affected by it.
