Idea for a new crucible mode

Give me your feedback! I definitely would like to hear your thoughts on the subject. For this mode teams would race to an object placed in a relatively open area (I'm thinking in a pit or on a pillar requiring some quick manoeuvrability) in the center of the map. The object must be held to accrue the points required for a win. Could be fun right? But let's add a little twist. The object causes a lingering damage over time (and possibly a small AoE) to the player holding it forcing him/her to pass it off to a teammate. Remaining stationary greatly increases the effect of the DoT as well so you'd have to keep moving. Passing it off would be exactly like throwing a grenade. This would be the best way IMO as it allows error and possibility for interception. If the object is dropped or a throw does not reach the target, the object will start to move around the map on its own until the next player picks it up. The player holding the object would be unable to use weapons or supers. Only able to melee. The object itself could be a ghost contaminated by darkness. The objective to gain whatever intel it may contain. This would fit in well with game. Team size: 6v6. Revive enabled after 15-20 sec delay. Auto respawn only after team wipe. A player cannot revive teammates if he/she is in possession of the object. That's all for now. Might pop back in a bit with more ideas. Edit: if you like the idea please comment!   • I think they should bring some varied game types that would revive the game and cater to the community as a whole . Some super casual modes and some hardcore modes. - A last man standing game - 3 lives then you are out . Team/ solo - - Infection - Imagine , sword of Croata, the holder becomes infected holding sword - had to infect all other players - who have to make it to a safe zone in a time limit. - - sparrow racing - self explanatory - - sparrow chasing - team of sparrows get a head start to make it through a small point to point race , all the while being chased by a team of pikes with a interceptor . 2 rounds - alpha and bravo swap objectives after round 1. - Swat - we NEED a 1 shot - headshot only - game type . Even if only restricted to scout rifles or hand cannons . No radar , no body damage . - Space battles - I mean c'mon you guys did a epic space flight mission in halo reach - Swords and relics - a sword vs shield match. Think about the possibilities . That's a few , dumbed down ideas anyway.

    • How about a only melee and super mode so there would be one melee round depending on the map so like if the map would be called Titan all player will have to use Titan abilities and same thing for hunters and warlock and there is an inferno mode so no radar and there will be a special supers only bonus round so super only and you respwan everytime with full sure energy

    • Here's an idea I call scatter. It's basically paintball. 5v5, the gaurdian is given a table of 5 weapons to choose from. There is a hand cannon, an auto rifle, a scout rifle, a pulse rifle and a flag (melee) You'd shoot at the enemy till the point when they'd die, they'd become In a sort of statis. You'd then have to melee them to remove them from the game. The objective is to shoot and melee the flag guy, after 2 minutes the flag guy is permenantly marked on the mini map for both teams. So yeah it's paintball, tag, search and destroy, and capture the flag sort of lol idk

    • I would just like to see Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, and Elimination (SnD whatever you want to call it) gametypes added and I will be quite content.

    • An infected mode where the infected guardians turn into thrall

    • Relic holder Free for all Same thing as above, kind of a circular map with a relic in the middle, which players race to capture. When holding the relic, you get points (Of course) sparrow races

    • How about a team death match mode with supers turned off. Bet it would turn into the most popular crucible mode i sure would only play that one.

      • I like the idea too, perhaps limit the revive to the player holding the "object", plus they would need greater resistance to external fire due to melee restrictions.

          • An interesting idea, kinda like oddball with a dark twist. I like it. Some suggestions: Revive should be enabled, to add an element of choice in. "Do I run away, or drop the Shade and revive my teammate?" At the very least there should be normal re-spawning. I also think that melee kills while holding the Shade provide a 1-3 second pause on the DoT tick. Just enough to maybe stabilize, but not to fully recharge. Last suggestion which would be quite deadly, when the player carrying the Shade dies, there is a somewhat potent AoE that goes off, damaging any player nearby, sort of like a self-defense response from the Shade itself. Would add a level of interest if someone kills the Shade carrier and isn't at full health, only to die themselves, leaving the Shade unattended. Maybe make the Shade move slightly if/when it is left alone for too long...say after 30 seconds...just a slight drift to make players panic a bit.

              +2 This reminds me of skull-ball from Marathon, only better, because winning isn't free. Defender Titans spec'ed for regenerating force barrier might run off with the match if they can ignore the DoT. (Other classes may have a way to do this as well, I'm unfamiliar with them in depth.) The grenade-throw would be interesting, might make that paramusculature gear a little more useful. Not sure about the revive ban, sounds like a most folks would spend the majority of a match as a puddle on the floor, might lead to excess quitting. What about requiring a two-man revive instead?
