Alpha Lupi- I haven't forgotten you…

Those of you who have been following Destiny for a while will remember the Alpha Lupi ARG. It was intended to build hype for the big Destiny reveal that happened that Sunday- which, if I'm not mistaken, was nearly a year ago (February of 2013). It was an interesting game, but now that we know so much about Destiny, I realized how little Alpha Lupi had to do with the actual game. Or does it just seem that way? Alpha Lupi itself is the name of a real star in the Milky Way Galaxy. Interesting, because as far as we know Destiny takes place only in Earth's solar system. The ARG's main reward was the screensaver and soundtrack on Sunday (plus, obviously, that day's Destiny reveal). But the main draw of the ARG were the poems that were revealed each day. The background of the poems has basically been proven as a map of Puerto Princesa, which may be the location of the Last City (or it could be completely irrelevant, but I hope Bungie wouldn't be that shallow). But the poems themselves remain largely a mystery. I've been reading them constantly since the ARG, and I'm here to share my thoughts with you. Firstly, the content of each poem. If you take a look at the day that each poem was released, you'll notice something important- the poems each reference a celestial body in our solar system that corresponds to the day each poem was released. To guide you (this correspondence is very important) here is a list of each planet/body and their corresponding day: Sunday: the Sun (duh) Monday: the Moon (in Spanish, Monday is Lunes, as in Luna aka the Moon) Tuesday: Mars (in Spanish, Tuesday is Martes) Wednesday: Mercury (in Spanish, Wednesday is Miercoles) Thursday: Jupiter (in Spanish, Thursday is Jueves) Friday: Venus (in Spanish, Friday is Viernes) Saturday: Saturn (also duh) What I meant by referencing is that if you read a given day's poem, it is talking about that day's celestial body (ex. Sunday's poem reads "The blaze sits inside a nest of little worlds,…") The poems were released starting on Monday, in order, until Sunday. If you read the poems in that order, the obviously lead to Sunday's reveal (with Monday's poem being the 'hook' for ARG players by seemingly explaining the whole 'radio transmission' part of the game, and Sunday's poem ending with (paraphrased:) "its important that everyone knows that you have returned" (referencing Bungie's return to game development with Destiny.)) But because of how the whole ARG poem is divided into smaller daily segments, you can rearrange the pieces to possibly draw new meaning from the poem. But in what new order? After realizing the planetary connection, I knew- the order of the planets, from the Sun outward. The rearranged list to read the poems in, then, is: Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. If you read them in this order, the first thing that you'll notice is that by starting with Sunday, the "tell everyone you are strong again" part is the FIRST part of the poem. Rather than ending the poem, it sets up the story. Also, the first line of Saturday's poem (the last poem in this order) is (NOT paraphrased:) "You have been pushed to this place, for a reason." This may be simple coincidence, but again, I refuse to believe that Bungie would be so shallow. Other notable parts of the poem are how it never reveals who 'you' is/are (Traveler? Player? Neither?), the references to instructing your followers/army (Monday and Thursday), and "the riddles of your own intentions" (Friday). Thoughts? Have another idea on how to arrange the poems (possibly from Saturn inward)? And if you're still out there, Alpha Lupi, will we ever hear from you again?
