So, I posted the proof that private matches aren't in the game and I got alot of feedback. With a majority definitely in support of private matches with this poll by Palindrome to back up that claim
except that poll proves all but nothing, not only is there a strong likelihood mostly pro private match players even bothered to click the poll, hense there is a lot of bias in the poll numbers. If anything the pole could be used as a argument against private matches, by pointing out how much 1300+ votes for yes dwarves the 4 million+ players in the beta.
Not saying you shouldn´t campaign for it, just saying you be even´t more credible if you didn´t use the poll argument.

well many things are biased, but unless you know who answered the polls specifically, labeling them as biased is both unfair and invalid. dont worry about me though, i didn't vote. but if i did, im pretty sure i would say no.

Edited by aWarlikeDonkey: 8/20/2014 7:36:25 PMYou don't really know that there is a "strong likelihood" only pro private players voted on the poll. If that was the case the poll would be biased, but you have not provided sufficient evidence to make that claim. "Only people who want private matches cared enough to vote" is not necessarily true, people who strongly dislike private matches are just as inclined to vote following your logic. "Only 1,300 votes for a population of 4,000,000" does not invalidate the poll. 1,300 is a plenty large enough sample size for a population of 4,000,000.

There isn't bias in the poll. It was worded just fine. Title: "Should Destiny have private matches?" Options "Yes/No/Idc".... I see no bias. Anyways if you want better "arguments" go to the inspired topic of this thread. Tons of arguing there.

not the poll itself, but the numbers it shows are, since as I said, most no/don´t care people will just not vote in the poll to begin with, so it´s not really gonna accurately depict what the community.

I don't think you can prove that.

I don't think that you can prove Remmus is wrong. Yeah for conjecture.

You're such an idiot. I was merely pointing out that he dismisses the votes as a biased number based on an assumption. He can't prove that the vote is skewed but he says it was. You can't prove it was a biased number then you come along and say "Well you can't prove he can't prove that HUR DUR". You're becoming a pest, a really stupid pest on my threads. You're so illogical.

Remmus' logic states that only "pro private match players" will vote because they want private matches and that players against/indifferent towards private matches will not vote in the poll because their opinion is that of "against or indifferent". That does not make sense. People who want private matches or people who don't want private matches in the game have an equal incentive to vote in the poll. People who are "indifferent" are the players with the least incentive to vote. Looking at the results, there are far more "indifferent" votes than "against" votes (the most votes were in favor of private matches). What does this mean, the group of players with the least amount of incentive to vote, outvoted players against private matches who had more incentive to vote. I don't think that this poll is biased at all. If it is biased, it understates the percentage of people who are indifferent towards private matches. However, even with this possibility for bias, private matches in Destiny is still preferred by the population (according to this sample).
