Listen, 9/9/14, the server wont work, so don't even try to log in.
This is why people hate Always Online , I want to explorer alone and do my things in story mission ... NOPE , server down.
No games work on Day 1

For all you non techies. The reason behind Bungies request for as many people as possible to logon and play at 5PM EST on July 26 was to see how well their current server setup would handle the load capacity. Now being the geniuses that Bungie are they can get a very good idea on what they will need to improve upon come launch day. They will have a close estimate to the total amount of pre orders. With the pre order estimate in mind they can add / beef up their servers according to a sliding scale. For example. If the servers performed just right on the 26th and their expecting 5 times the amount to logon and play day 1, well they will multiple their current server resources by 5 in order to accommodate ( knowing bungie they will probably add in extra padding for any miss calculations ).

It will work on day 1.
-
It may work but it's not always smooth is what he's saying.
-
The only other game that I played on day 1 was FFXIV and they had major issues for over a week. The problem was so many people were trying to logon that the servers could not handle it. In my case I can only base my day 1 expectations on my past experience which I am sure RNGesus is doing as well.
-
To be fair FF14 didn't really think that many players would play their game lol. They actually admitted that they didn't estimate it properly :P

Diablo 3 for me ... Error 33 never forget !

ahhh.... memories. Horrible, horrible memories.

I want you to hop on the trollercoaster with me!

Not so much...

Because we experienced so many server issues on Alpha and Beta days right? I have faith in Bungie's servers. PSN servers are a whole different story.
-
-
Ya, because an Alpha and Beta will solve everything, you people are mad stupid. Every day during the BETA: Pardon our Dust If you actually think that Destiny server will hold up with zero lag and run smooth for the whole week on launch day. You are a sad disillusion individual
-
I dont think people expect the servers to be smooth on day one..your're right if people think that...howerver that beta message was up everyday to remind you if the servers break...i think the servers will be fairly functional day one..i mean anything will be more stable than BF4 launch
-
It had awful lag when they were up...
-
Well im not sure how you played, but only till the last day I found that I had either connection issues or lag. The last day. I'm not saying they will get it perfect on day 1, but since they know how many people played the beta and alpha, I think they're going to get it right on day 1.
-
Same here. I had no problems until the last say when they were testing the severs.
-
You do realize the pardon our dust message is part of the beta itself? Simply because it was a beta lol. That message is STILL there in fact. Im not worried about it. Bungie knows what they are doing.

Edited by TaCTiCaL32: 8/12/2014 3:07:26 PMI've been offline for a grand total of 6 minutes since November. Please know what you're talking about before posting random nonsense. Thanks. Inb4 but the beta crashed the PSN. Actually it didn't. The store just went wonky. I was in a party chat the entire time with 7 other people. ;)
