Hand cannons are a terrible idea in the Crucible, Pulse Rifles can work if you have the skill. They were all fine in fighting for the Vanguard. But in the Crucible, those auto rifles were kind of OP with their long range and unfair accuracy. Example: Shingen-C

Example: Shingen-C[/quote] Keep in mind that the Shingen-C was the single best autorifle that you could find in the Beta. My cryptarch was level 4 or 5 and I never got one, I had to use a Galahad B right up until the Beta shut down. However Handcannons could be used acceptably, they were really just a 'troll' weapon...like picking the worst thing on purpose just to prove you can do something with it. Also I don't know that any amount of skill would help you with a Pulse Rifle. Unless you've completely[i] mastered [/i]your individual weapon's kick and direction, after 1 or 2 pulls of the trigger, your scope is nowhere near what you're aiming at.

I had the Jigoku RS3-SL Scout Rifle, and an older one with just as much damage as the Shingen-C (Switched for a better upgrade). If it was rare in the beta or not, it was just too powerful. Another level 8 scout rifle couldn't beat it, especially when it came to the Crucible. Pulse rifles were indeed high on recoil, but didn't take complete mastery to be effective with. You only had to aim a little lower, though the recoil should definitely be reduced.
