[Petition] Naming our Guardians
We've all made our guardians just how we want them; they're the class we want them, the race we want them, and they have the face we want them to have. It'd be a subtle, yet great customisation option if we could name them.
It shouldn't show as a display name though, it should only be visible to others when they inspect your character.
EDIT: to support and sign the petition, leave a comment saying: "Name our Guardians"

Let us name our Guardians. For reals. Rocking out three Guardians who all presumably use the same name is just silly and doesn't do any justice to the ideology of game content immersion.

So now I have to keep my real friends name, their Gamertag, AND keep up with each of their characters names? Keep it how it is now.

This won't happen and I'm happy it won't I already have an online name which is sort of a secondary name I don't wan't a 3rd

I like this idea. If you're a PS4 player you have a way around this problem (sort of). Go into your profile settings and change your display name, first and last, to whatever name you'd like to RP as. Sure, only friends and friends of friends can see your display name in place of your gamer tag, but that's good enough for me.

Everyone's like oh I won't be able to find my friends. I call BS. I used to play WoW for years and I had no problem finding any of my friends characters. In fact, the ones I played the most with, I had them memorized by heart. And Wow is actually a good example because in your friends list you can see your friends Battle.net username (ps name) and which character they were playing at the time. Name our Gaurdians

It's taxing enough for sony and microsoft monitoring names as is and Id rather have bungie focusing on increasing the immersion of the game in other respects rather than having to respond to the numerous flags/reports that I would have to do... Lets face it...as many gamers as there are out there having the ability to create a name would just open the floodgates of random ludicrous names... Also when in the tower or multiplayer Id rather not have to search and sift through the stifiling amount of "Johns" and "Bobs" and "Steves" considering people will undoubtedtly have the same name at times... Plus I took plenty of consideration into my gamertag and feel it fits in any game I play...iv grown attached to it so im cool with it...i do understand its hard/costly to constantly try and change or find unique gamertags that are taken already...

Could just be how Mass Effect 3 does their multiplayer, you can name your character and leave it at that. It'll only be visible to you and only you.

Name our Guardians I usually have a lot of fun with my psn ID but I want my deeds in destiny to go down in the histories of mankind under another name than StiffDikDrifter...

I think it should be more like a clan tag. Something short to stand out and be recognized as different without changing the name
