I like this game a lot but the PVP

Is not balanced or skill based. Don't sit here and fanboy and try to explain or make excuses as to why you believe it is any competent player can tell it isn't. Constructive feed back: 1. Supers have no place in the mp and are the biggest problem, disable them. There is no way to tell when a player is super charged or not. If there were a very clear aesthetic when there super was ready that other players could be aware of it would be somewhat fair but even then for the warlock and myself included, Titan it's just mash bumpers to win. Maybe a gold halo or sparkles around the player when their super is ready? 2. The sniper rifle damage needs to be lowered roughly 20-30% auto aim needs a severe reduction. I was doming head shots with the Gozen with no effort after 3 games. Head shot damage should remain the same. 3. Reduce auto rifle damage 5-10% buff pulse rifle damage at least 20% and reduce recoil slightly. 4. Vehicles for the most part are incredibly broken. Either a sniper takes them out of the vehicle or a super must come up. At the beginning of the game vehicles reign supreme please add heavy weapon ammo at the start of games on vehicle based maps, it would have such a positive impact on gameplay. 5. Net code seems to be intentionally noob friendly, at close quarters it is near impossible not to trade. Often I melee the person shot gunning me and they die as well. Don't even get me started about meleeing each other, it is almost guaranteed that both players die. Kill delays on many things such as snipers can be up to 3 seconds.. I have never seen this in a game before, ever. It's ridiculous. I do however love the map designs, although moon is over vehicle saturated. The movement mechanics and aiming in this game are some of the best in any FPS I have ever touched hands down. Edit: For good players please message me if you are interested in joining a competitive scene of players I have started a group called Got Gear looking to raid and be the premiere first raiding guild in Destiny. I used to lead 10 and 25 man WoW raids. If this game does somehow turn around it's MP we are looking to compete in tourneys as well.

  • I'm fine with the PvP, I first tried it and sucked, i found it was because i was using a Semi Auto Scout Rifle that didn't fire fast enough. And a sniper i wasn't skilled enough with. But when I switched to an Auto Rifle, and Fusion Rifle, i started slowly getting better and better K/D's. As for vehicles, nothing a well timed grenade wont fix, just lob it where they're going to be, not where they are. Depending on the grenade type, they could be blown up, blinded, have the vehicle destroyed, or all of the above. And if you want to level up in Crucible without ever PvPing, just find loads n loads of Spinmetal and trade it to the Crucible Vanguard Bot-Guy, you get Reputation, marks, and some glimmer...

      My biggest complaint is getting matched with retard teammates. It gets old after awhile getting mvp 90% of the games, and losing because some people can't carry their own weight (ex: getting 4 kills and 20 deaths)

    • That's almost like asking God to Nurf Lions and Tigers, because they are op compared to us in a fight. Just adapt and realize that certain things should be avoided. But agree on the Super charge indicator, and clearly the indication should b a flaming helmet ;)

      • I feel like the people that complain about the pvp just aren't very good at it.... sure it needs balancing but that's what the beta is for. I'm no pro but I do just fine against vehicles, snipers, melee and people with supers whatever. Just see how they tweak it and adapt or don't bother with pvp at all. It's not that bad at all for a beta and it is a lot of fun if you can catch on and adapt to the opposing teams strategies.

        • Yeah pvp in this game isn't that great ... There is no way they can balance the game with all the guns people are bringing into pvp .. and the specials are just kind of mindless in pvp

          • 1. simply put, no. dont forget this aint halo, so there arent any weapons on the map to pick up, no rocket launchers or swords so having supers and heavy ammo spawn is a replacement for those 2. snipers are fine, i mean it is a sniper rilfe and does the same thing like every other game, as for the auto aim, i dont find there is any, unless you have your look sensitivity is low, which makes it easier to target. plus snipers have a large glowing dot when you look at em, if you see it, run, aka strategy 3. auto rifles are fine 4. i agree that vehicles are a bit tough, but arent invincible, like every other game whith vehicles, it takes time and strategy to take em out. 5. Net code? srsly dont forget that melee in this game is also governed by talents, such as the titan having more dmg to their melee when available or the hunter having a throwing knife, the net code is fine after many games, i have personally experienced, 0 lag 0 delay

            • There are sooo many comments I couldn't read them all and I agree with all that I read....with the exception of some idiots. But I'm not sure if anyone has pointed out the fact that you start out with even teams but if lets say 2 ppl lose connection on one side it stays that way every game after that making it a permanent 6 on 4. Something truly needs to be done about that because I'm getting tired of being triple teamed every time I go and try and capture a zone.

              • Only point I agree with is #5 - the hit detection is way off for some reason. It wasn't like this in Alpha at all, which is the most puzzling part - everything was smooth and balanced just fine. The supers are a little strong (especially warlock) but I don't think removing them is the way to go. Instead slow the rate they charge a bit more and PLEASE remove Orbs of Light from PvP. It makes sense in PvE but in PvP all you're doing is enabling another guy on your team to use theirs dramatically sooner. You could argue that's just a nice teamwork incentive but I find it a bit much. Pulse Rifle damage needs to be cranked *way* up (why did they nerf it so hard from Alpha?) in general, not just for PvP - can't kill crap with them anymore. Literally every other gun kills just fine (hand cannons kinda suck still, should have a higher headshot multiplier) but with a pulse rifle I feel like I'd be better off spitting on people. so yeah other than PR damage being crap and kill trades happening way too often (tired of being killed in the blink of an eye by magical ARs that do a billion damage seemingly and with absolutely no warning despite no lag) the only thing that screams OP - to me at least - are the vehicles. Especially the Interceptor, the cannon on that thing is just insane. But in general if someone's in a vehicle and they're coming up on you, you're screwed unless you have either your super or heavy ammo (rocket launcher specifically). Otherwise you're just going to get mowed down. At least in Halo you could board vehicles or lob a sticky/plasma pistol - in this game it's basically pray you get lucky or your team mates are nearby to focus fire.

              • Dude you and guys on this topic are crazy. What multi-player game game have you played that is much better than this. I hope you don't mention any games with kill streaks. This game takes a lot if skill besides getting the first shot off. How could anyone on their right mind say that Bungie has developed a tacked on pvp. That's ludicrous. It's what they are famous for. This to me is the best pvp since Halo:CE.

                  • I couldn't disagree more. I've been shot smashed stabbed and destroyed with every type of weapon in the game and I didn't even play that much PvP. I honestly can say I disagree with you on every point you made. In fact I find that it is a much more dynamic PvP than most other games.

                    • The pvp not bad actual with some bug. Wait until the full game comes out where all your skills are unlocked and when gear comes into play I could imagine all the post about nerf this and that. The people should learn to play there class and just stop complaining this ain't CoD or battlefield.

                      • I disagree with all of this. I've played since alpha and have found the multiplayer extremely skill based. All the guns should be balanced extremely differently, otherwise why have more than one gun? There are tactics for each gun and situation. At first i thought the golden gun was super weak compared to other supers but have since found that it is all about the situations in which you use it. I'm a hunter and i'm always at around a 2.5 KtD and the top 1-2 players on the team. Its not about who can do what, its about how to counter what other people try. (Also there is an animation that shows when a player activates their super)

                            PvP for me was ok but I hate the gametype Bungie chose for the beta simple team on team death match would've been better

                            • reduce auto rifle damage 5 -10%?? how are you even calculating this. You're just coming up with random percentage drops because you're most likely getting wrecked in pvp.

                              • I agree on nearly every account, though I would like to add another point. The differences between each classes double jump ability. I know that Bungie is trying to differentiating each class in ability, but in PvP only the Hunter class' quick double jump ability is useful. Both the Titan's slow upwards boost and the Warlock's gentle horizontal glide are useless in PvP. All they do is make you a slow floating target to shoot down. Would also like to add that players with a ready Super ability should give off some kind of aura. Having their name glow is too hard to spot, especially in the middle of combat.

                                    Point 5....yes yes yes. I swear the fight is over, and next thing I know my player dies of a serious heart attack. The vehicles are crazy lmao if their guns didn't have 360 degrees of motion then maybe they'd be alright. I feel like I could literally be above one and still get shot out of the air....yikes.

                                    • Agree with heavy weapons being available at the start of vehicle maps and buffing the Pulse rifles . Other than that I've been loving the PvP.

                                    • I agree with almost everything here, great points friend. Things I would change in you post: -heavy weapon ammo shouldn't be added at the beginning of a round unless it is a vehicle supporting map. (I also don't think people should be able to share heavy weapon ammo, only one person should get it) -Sniper damage should be reduced but a headshot should still kill in one shot. And turn aim assist waaaaay down! I think that's pretty much it. Great post mate.
