I only disagree with you on the point of Fusion Rifles. The fact that they cannot CRIT doesn't mean they're sub par to sniper rifles in ever situation. The Devil Walker is a prime example. My max damage Pompeii does 403 damage to each of the DW's leg joints. My fusion rifle does 62x7 damage anywhere on it's body. That's a 31 point damage increase and I can hit it anywhere. Now against enemies that can't actually be CRITed normally, snipers are superior. Shielded enemies are weaker to fusion rifles, due to the fact that if you're matching elemental damages to the proper shields you can drop them in 3 hits or less. Yellow health bar enemies (armored) take reduced damage from elemental sources meaning that snipers are superior in this situation as well. In conclusion: Snipers and fusion rifles are about even against average fodder enemies. Both are capable of killing in a single expended round. Snipers have an advantage against enemies with standard critical multipliers and armored enemies. FRs have an advantage against shielded enemies and enemies that take reduced critical damage to certain weak points.

  • In your example about the Devil Walker, you want to crit him not just for the good initial damage on that bullet but if you break his leg he opens his head for a weak spot that does above normal crit damage, so a sniper would be better

  • FR breaks his leg just the same and does more damage per round than a sniper in doing it. Just because the FR can't CRIT doesn't mean it's damage isn't applied towards the leg's destruction.

  • i NEVER stated fusion rifles are useless... i stated each weapon has its use for certain situations.. fusions are best for pvp.. and elites... but the drawback is the charge time leaves you open.. and thier really short range..and lack of crit damage which for "general combat and extended fights" sniper rifles do better becuase they have high damage for oppertunity shots, extreme ranges which boost your safety, and the ability to scout distant locations in open maps for chests. as for the pompeii... trash it.. get a gozen C.. youll never look back.. youll do over double the damage. i use the 48 round auto on the legs.. PLENTY ammo and 56 damage a shot takes those legs down fast.. which exposed the core inside the body allowing the gozen to do 1400 damage a shot. your spray and prey of the fusion rifle to the body and head.. wont destroy the legs.. wont expose the core.. and thus if you want the most bang for your buck.. your wasting ALOT of damage for 12 shots by using the fusion rifle on bosses.67x5 over 1400 a shot.. ill take the 1400 every time. especially on the harder settings when enemies are twice abundant and ammo is especially scarce.
