The Crucible Confession
I've seen quite a couple of posts about how one or two bad players in a PvP team can spoil it for everyone. I want to clear the air and admit - I am that terrible player. Look at my stats, no lies. I am sorry. If you see me in your team - despair!

Anyway, I am not a very good skilled at the twitch pvp type games, but I always go for the team objective and try to win every single time. However, for some reason, I am always in the freagin' losing team, so I am starting to think I am the reason my team always loses although I try to do all the point capping possible. I do have a theory though, and that it is that this game type is kind of broken. There is hardly ever a comeback chance. Once a team takes the lead, you'll hardly see that change and the losing team can do little to change the outcome. There needs to be another factor to be considered for these Control maps. Take the warzones in killzone for instance. There are several rounds and game types in each map, so that even if you are smashed in say.. Deathmatch or Control, you always have a change to turn the game around in the next rounds. I've not found this to be the case in Destiny, and although I like PvP, the Control game type in this game is not very fun in my opinion.

its ok man i suck to we should make a clan for people with crap pvp scores so we can make teams with people of a like skill lvl we can call it bullet sponges i seriously made this clan msg if you want to join

Other times, I practice my grenade tossing abilities by passing it like a hot potato to other teammates. I prefer that the flags stay red because its my favorite color. I like to take the heavy ammo and jump off the edge of the map because I fall faster since I'm heavier. When Im fireteam leader, I actively look for fires to put out with my gun. And I treat my KD like a golf scoreboard: the lower the better! Be brave.

No worries mate, as long as you're capping, I won't complain. I'm not to great myself. I've literally called myself King of Losers as I often end up being the better player on the losing team despite my crappy pvp skills.

1 Replyonly "BAD" players in pvp are the ones that on the moon map go around on vechiles all the time u would think after being blowen up 4-5 times not to frickking do it... u learn fast A)i have a grenade waiting for ur ass B) a sniper rifle and good aim or last but least C) im a baddass titan with a rocket launcher or my Fist of havoc to use on your ass teehee...... but seriously im not the best at PvP usually bottom to middle on the scoreboard but i try.... bad players as in not as skilled dont spoil it just makes it alittle harder to win as with bad players aka Asswipes will lose the game for you not hard to cap flags and move on as a group downside is getting grenade or titan/lock sp attk wipes u all out if too close together XD

Thats why i will only play the crucible with a full fireteam. Exploring is why im buying Destiny, crucible is for shits n giggles for me. Just any other PvP it turns into K/D arguments and YouTube highlight reels.

Bro i thought it was like battlefield's conquest i was just capping crap and getting murdered wondering where everyone else was. Soooo yeah i feel ya. Plus it takes balls to go solo and realize there is only 2 other people on your team. Cant pad k/d ratios doing that lol.

I must of played ten games but not won one match but I do come top of the scoreboard on my team sometimes

I haven't really played any fps for many years so will be interesting getting my eye in to start with as well.

1 ReplyI actually wish that the matchmaking code would at least try to match up players with similar stats. I.e. match those of us who suck with others who suck equally badly, while matching those who fail to suck with others like themselves. Everybody wins. And yes, I suck at PVP. Only started with the Alpha, my typical K/D ratio is well under 1.0. But I have fun!

I'm awful. Absolutely awful, but it's still a lot of fun. Never been a big shooter guy but I like capture the flag games or something with an objective. Death match is not for me, but if there's other ways I can help besides shooting, I'm in.

4 RepliesI myself suck at PvP but then again iam blind in my right ey and am right handed so my depth perception and target acquisition is slow and slightly off but that does not stop me from at least doing my best.

I here you bro. My last real stint at FPS was back in the Battlefield 3 days. I have really enjoyed my time so far with the Destiny Alpha and Beta. The mix of RPG elements and PvP is a different kind of gaming for me, and I am already addicted to the competition. It is very frustrating right now because everyone else in the Crucible is SO much better than me. It is rare that I get more that 10 kills per match, although I try to cap as many flags as I can and back up my fire team. I am not part of a clan or permanent fire team yet, but I can already tell that having a organized team on the mic has an advantage on the battlefield. Right now, I am struggling with what type of class I want to use, I leveled a Titan in the Alpha and have leveled a Warlock and working up a Hunter. I am also not sure about what primary weapon is best for me in PvP, I have been using the Scout Rifle because of its accuracy and range, with a Sniper Rifle as my secondary, but I am constantly getting mowed down by other players in mid- to close quarters combat that have the Auto Rifle. I just can't squeeze out the bullets per second with my Scout that they can with their Auto. So, next step is to try out the Auto Rifle, and I appear to be leading the charge to cap the points most times, so I don't think that the Warlock or Hunter strategy or armor is good for my play style, so I think I will try to level up a Titan again when the Beta goes live tomorrow. A friend of mine joined my fireteam late match and was put in the opponents team. So they need to make it so that the team you get matched with are forced into a fireteam or you will have players joining late matches to give positions away.

1 ReplyUnskilled players are even more detrimental to the team in Destiny than in other shooters. Having a really terrible KDR does actually matter in Destiny, because the more you die, the more you feed the enemy teams' Supers. I've been in a number of matches where, not only did half my team not understand how to properly fire their weapons, but the enemy had Supers ready going into practically every fight. Feeding is now a legitimate obstacle in Destiny.
