But seriously, it was just incredibly witty, self-aware, and consistently humorous.
If you haven't seen the movie, don't read this:
I thought the introduction of the kid and Will Ferrell was hilarious, but I think it would have been better as a quick gag, rather than the crux of the entire plot. It kinda defeated the wonder of the story.
So yeah, go see this. Go see it with a lady (but not on a first date...never do movies on the first date). Elizabeth Banks even managed to make a Lego character hot.
-
I feel like the four odd planned sequels are gonna ruin it though :(
-
It's hard to tell...is it stop motion or CGI?
-
Well here's some problems I have with the movie 1) It was too good 2) I had everything is awesome suck in my head forever and still do
best song ever
3) It didn't give a third fake thing to critique and lists can't just be made up of two points.
-
there's a severe lack of good cop/bad cop in here.
-
What?! The movie came out?!
-
Edited by Mr whiteflame: 2/9/2014 11:18:45 PMI thought the
Humans
plot twist was dumb.
-
SPOILERS:
But Emmet is still able to move himself, even when we realize he is a toy. Keeps the wonder going, in my opinion.
-
It was -blam!-ing hilarious. Loved it.
-
Edited by Lord Decitron: 2/9/2014 10:25:23 PMIt was really good. I just wish Benny was featured more prominently; dude is the best part of the movie. Spaceman... Fighter of the Business man. Champion of the... Stars(?)
-
I think
Ghost Vestruvius
was the funniest part of that whole movie. Of course, Will Ferrel was a powerhouse too.
-
I enjoyed will Ferrells and the kids part in the movie. I thought it was interesting that this whole story revolved around a boys relationship with his father. I felt that everything is awesome in the movie.
-
It kinda sucked.

Edited by kgj: 2/9/2014 10:43:37 PMstill waiting until valentine's day 3excited, but i think i'll miss a hilariously cute theater full of giggly kids :( OH OH OH were there any references to batman begins? ya know, 'cause of liam neeson and batman?

The lego movie was hilarious. I loved it.
-
I guess I'll have to go see it sometime then.
-
I'm seeing it tomorrow morning.
-
Edited by Verbatim: 2/10/2014 1:34:37 AMJust now saw it. It was decent, I guess. Not 100% on Rotten Tomatoes good. I didn't laugh/smile once throughout the entire thing, and I cringed twice. 7/10 in my book.
I liked how the moral was based on the placebo effect. I didn't care for all the deus ex shit.
-
Was not the least bit interested in it until I started seeing all the positive reviews. Like.. lots of them. Plan on taking the family next weekend.
-
I can't BELIEVE how much people liked this movie. The trailer makes it look horrible, especially with the animation.
-
Aw, now I want to see it.
-
When I saw the commercials I thought it looked like the stupidest thing ever, but I watched a couple trailers and it started looking better and better. Definitely going to see it soon.
-
Any bionicle cameo?

This movie was absolutely terrific. You can tell that it was made by people who truly understood what it was like to play with Legos. The sound effects, the small details and characteristics of pieces, what it was like building with other people, asking for certain bricks... My girlfriend and I absolutely loved it.

I enjoyed it. It's not like I'm mad or anything.
