Yes, and given how the clouds were blotting out the sun...
And it's because he hasn't adapted to the foreign atmosphere- he can't breathe properly.
No, the space scenes aren't plot holes. He doesn't breathe in space- there isn't a single scene in it where he inhales.
Doesn't he adapt while he had that whole scene with Zod in his mind? While he's knocked out?

Right. I think it has something to do with how Krypton's atmosphere revolved around a red sun- Jax Ur says that the power he derives from his exposure to the sun was neutralized aboard the ship- and he wasn't in view of the sun either (just as he wasn't when fighting the World Engine).

So the red sun of Krypton alters the atmosphere? Picture this: Zod gets his way in MoS, and terraforms Earth. Since earth has a yellow sun, would that mean the Kryptonians would all be superman-like, or does the atmosphere actually matter?

Edited by kgj: 8/26/2013 3:19:25 AMAssuming what Jax Ur said is true, yes. The atmosphere apparently has the ability to negate the strength one gets from exposure to the sun.
Since earth has a yellow sun, would that mean the Kryptonians would all be superman-like, or does the atmosphere actually matter?
All Kryptonians would be Superman like. The atmosphere is also based around a yellow sun. Oh wait, I just realized what you said. The Kryptonians would probably still be Superman like simply because of the yellow sun. Argh. I get the feeling I'm not explaining this properly. I have to GTFO anyway, hopefully come back and explain later

So, assuming the Kryptonians survive for some reason and find refuge on earth, what makes Kal different or special from them? If there were more Kryptonians, would he be insignificant? Could they all archive the amount of power he gets while he's Superman Prime (something like that)?
