This took place during that ridiculous pursuit of the Halo 3 Recon set. My two buddies and I decided to try the Vidmaster Challenge: Endure on ODST. We splitscreened and out of utility, agreed to let a young kid we found online be our fourth man. Deep into this marathon of Covenant-killing, the kid’s parents told him to turn off the game. The rest of us convinced him to lock himself in his room and keep playing, NO MATTER WHAT. We could hear him and his folks verbally go at it through his locked door; parental punishment was threatened, but he held the line with us… until we ending up getting destroyed by the very last group of enemies needed to pass the set. Four hours gone. Probably ruined the kid’s life. No achievement to show for it, but the buddies and I still look back at that moment and laugh.
