• Playing Halo 3 with my older brother. It was Vahalla Heavy CTF. As was in our tradition in CTF with vehicles, my brother and I would take the mongoose with him as the driver and be like ghosts to capture the enemy's flag. Since it was "heavy" variant map I grabbed the rocket launcher to make our little vehicle a "mini tank"; while my brother thought it was unnecessary since it took time to get. Upon driving on the river side of the map we approached the base and saw a group of blues guarding the flag. I fired both rockets at the base and my brother stated I had missed but instead some of the blues jumped up into the rockets securing me a triple kill and our team the flag. We then took the flag and rinsed and repeated. Mongoose driving to capture the flag and returning ending the game in about 6 min.

  • A friend and I were playing Halo 3, Rumble Pit. The game was almost over near and we were fighting each other for the lead along with one other person; a female player who was kicking ass but not mean about it. She had a serious chance at winning, but right at the end my friend stuck her with a sticky and won the game. Mind you, up until now the in-game chat was pretty clean and friendly. So what were her last words as the game ended? "-blam!- you, Shriden(1)!" It really captured how fun and sometimes frustrating Halo was.

  • Me and my buddy Zach were playing together online trying to get the "If They Came to Hear Me Beg" achievement. We spent an hour focused, hurling ourselves off that cliff, trying to get the timing right. Finally I landed on the Elite just right and saw my Spartan start his brutal assassination, and right before the killing strike Zach lands and smacks the elite in the back of the head in one prompt motion and earned his Yoink award. We fought, but its funny now, and I still have the video of it on my file share to this day. "If they came to hear me yoink."

  • My favorite moment playing a Bungie game was in Halo Reach one time, i was playing team SWAT with my brother and then it happened, i got my very first extermination. The silence on the map was unparalleled and the absence of the enemy team made it eery, the feeling that there was no danger, no threat of death was unheard of until that moment. but it was short lived and that 3 second respawn was unforgiving and the craziness that is halo stirred once again.

    • To be honest i don't have any one moment that was my favorite moment but i do have lots of memories of staying up all night playing custom games with friends and constantly crying from all of the laughter, and trying to keep my voice down but failing at it miserably. Also i have memories of playing campaign with friends either achievement hunting or we found something hilarious and just keep doing it again, like seeing how long we could keep a forklift alive. Like i said before i don't have one favorite moment but thanks for the memories and I'm looking forward to the future.

    • Oh the memories! I remember when my friends challenged a clan to a game of Forge Capture the Flag. It was epic! Spartan Lasers burning opponents to ashes, Warthogs battling it out on rivers, and Banshees dogfighting in the sky! My favorite moment was when my team entered the home base. We set off holograms to trick the enemies. When they shot a dummy they got slaughtered! But as we were fighting an enemy warthog saw the attack and started firing upon us. We lost one man, but kept pushing forward. I requested an air evac when I had the flag. As soon as I jumped into the Falcon, it got hit. I ejected out with my jetpack and ran to home base! We were victorious!

Doing halo 3 vidmaster annual. It was going great, until we got too the ghost part. One of the people I was playing with was terrible at driving the ghost. We could never get past the first section of it because he would always flip and die putting us back. After him dying about 30 times in the same spot we couldn’t stop laughing. Due to us laughing we couldn’t get done with it because we all ended up doing something stupid and dying ourselves. Well after about 300 deaths each and 10 hours of trying it eventually we finished. Doesnt seem like much but there was so many fails by everyone involved and sheer stupidity after trying it for about 10 hours its a memory I wont soon forget.

ODST's "Endure" vidmaster proved to be one of the most teamwork-essential and challenging trial my friends and I took on at the time. Though we have grown more skillful, the pure fun and struggles will never fade. "Recon" was literally nothing to us during the game. Focus, Valor, Fails, T-bags, along with hearty laughs gave life to a long 4 set - 4 round Firefight. Oni-Alphasite will never be forgotten. Halo will never be forgotten. Win the poster or not, I'd like to say Thank you, Bungie, for everything. We're always by your side!

    • Another favorite moment was in halo reach. I was playing jump rope with a couple of friends. And of course weird shit happens when your going mock 90 down a ramp. So I'm at the bottom of the ramp jumping over anything that comes toward me, and the out of the blue halo ring sky this wraith glitches and hits me. Of course you think I died naturally but no, it sends me flying. I hit the water with such force that instead of sinking I bounce right off it and continue off towards the mountains never touching the ground again. Then me ten second limit ends and I die, me and my friends are amazed and laughing at how far I went. Truly epic!!

    • It was high school and we (my friends and I) set up a 12 person LAN party. This would end up being one of the greatest days/fattest days of my life. We started at 8 am and didn’t end until 4 am the next day. We survived on soda, hot wings, pizza, chips, and random weapon king of the hill on Midship (don’t judge). Before we all crashed, we heard Christmas music playing quietly from the radio. We were all so confused as it was the middle of July. I’m still not sure if we were all delusional.

    • Playing Halo:Reach, FFA. I see an enemy round a corner, so naturally I decide to assassinate him. In any normal day, this would have resulted in a satisfying kill. This was not any normal day. As I chase my adversary, he runs around the corner into a third player. I begin my assassination, and my target sticks the third player. Before I realize what has occurred due to the chaos, the sticky immediately kills the person that it stuck, the person I was assassinating, and myself. My 'victim' achieved a double kill, showstopper and suicide. I blame Stosh.

Late March, 2009, I was house sitting for one of my sons ... 8 hours from my home. I was bored, really bored. So, I talked my other son, my oldest daughter, and her bf into playing Halo 3 with me - co-op campaign via internet. The men did there job ... clearing the way, destroying the enemy before us; and I had the privilege of getting my daughter from check point to check point ... as she's sightseeing the landscape n buildings, and talking the whole way. I have never laughed so hard in my life! That is when I fell in love with 'co-op' gaming. I walked from that game with basically no points, but had a blast playing with my diverse kids.

    • My favorite moment when playing a Bungie game with friends was the summer before our freshman year of college and everyone was going to be leaving the next day. We all gathered in my one friends basement and had a huge LAN party. I was the best player there so as we played I could hear their screams of terror and fear as I took them down. As they trembled in fear as I picked them off one by one, one brave soul took me by surprise and assassinated me as my friends screamed "ohhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!". Best moment hands down.

In my younger and more vulnerable years I played a game of Halo that I've been turning over in my mind ever since (cookie for reference). Having already spent countless hours playing splitscreen on what remains our favorite party game to this day, we had reached an unequal equilibrium in Halo 2. One of my friends and I were far better than everyone else, which, while being something we both quite enjoyed, was not as popular among everyone else. To remedy this situation my skilled friend and I shared a controller, with each of us using one hand. Needless to say, awkward, uncoordinated hilarity ensued, becoming even more fun when we managed to grab the rocket launcher. To this day that remains my favorite moment playing a Bungie game (or any game, for that matter). And so we beet on, Spartans against the energy sword, born back ceaselessly into Lockout.

    • 2 years ago some friends and I decided to go back and get the achievement from Halo 3 for completing the final mission on co-op in ghosts with the iron skull. We thought it was going to be easy, but boy were we wrong… After a painful two and a half hours we finally did it. We watched the cutscene as chief jumped his warthog in the ship… and then connection lost. The game returned us to the loading screen and didn’t give us our achievement. Surprisingly we weren’t upset and instead burst out laughing.

    • Once upon a time, way back when the infamous Vidmaster challenges were still relevant, me and my friends attempted Déjà Vu. Frustration ran high and the infinite rockets lit up the covenant filled skies. My friend, bored to tears at the many restarts, decided to launch a rocket at my friend... As we hit a checkpoint. Wouldn't you know it, direct hit! We went back to the checkpoint and BAM, hit again. "TIME PARADOX!" my friend screamed and the next couple of inescapable deaths were filled with laughter.

    • The game seemed over, our hopes were all gone. The teams were uneven, there was no room to spawn. When out of the darkness my guest hatched a scheme. We'll go grab a mongoose and save the whole team. We picked up the bomb but there was no time to spare. We used the man-cannon and took to the air. We got past their warthog, their sniper, their flank. Though they might have just sucked like the dude in the tank. We armed the bomb, the ride quite a thrill. The game ended with a bang to the word, "OVERKILL".

      • In Halo 3 Me and 3 other friends decided to go for the Vidmaster Challenge: Annual. And after trying it for the entire day (about 9 hours) We finally got to the last stretch, and the host got disconnected and we had to restart all over again. So after we were all in the the lobby one of the guys decided to quite, so we wen't in matchmaking to find a fourth, and after about an hour of playing we found a guy who would help us, and at this point it was about 2:00 and we were all tired form doing this vidmaster challenge. So when we had four people doing it we wen't in and were at it for about 2 hours and when we were on the final stretch the way we made the jump( to the pillar of autumn I believe) one of my friends ghost was on top of mine and we jumped together like bad asses, And we barely made the jump but we activated the cuts scene, and after that we got recon. I'll never forgot that moment in Halo 3 mainly because that was when i realized that it was my favorite game ever made, Because I had played the game for about 13 hours straight and was never bored and then as soon as i got recon i felt accomplished. I'll never forgot.

I was five years old and I had owned Halo CE for a couple months at this point, My dad and I invited my friend, my friend's little brother, and my friends dad over to play some Halo. My skills were far superior to theirs, so even though it was a Slayer match with no teams, the other four decided to team up on me. In the end, I emerged victorious with a huge five year-old grin across my face and won bragging rights for the next couple months. Thanks for the amazing games throughout my life.

      • Completing the Vidmaster Challenge: Annual was my favourite moment playing a Bungie game. Making friends and communicating with 2 fellow Halo fans halfway across the world for a common goal; to complete the final level of Halo 3: 'Halo' on four-player Legendary Co-Op with the iron skull activated and everyone in Ghosts. It didn't matter that it was worth 0G, just seeing the green marathon symbol with stars and iron skull was well worth the effort!.....And seeing a Ghost joining the Warthog jumping into the frigate in the cutscene too haha

      • My favorite moment was when Halo Reach came out. I have had great moments before but I stayed up waiting until 4 in the morning with 3 of my closest and best friends. I had bought the new Xbox as well while I was at Gamestop and rushed home to play it. Just the sheer genius of the opening track brought a tear to my eye and made me shiver. I played for 24 hours straight, trying the amazing new forge world, Campaign, and of course multiplayer. That was and will always be my greatest moment in the history of video games. That's when I truly fell in love with Bungie and made a pact to buy every game you shall ever release.

      • You know the moment when you think "How the hell did I do that?" after you just performed something completely unintentional? Well....One time on the level Delta Halo (Halo 2) in the area where you extend the bridge, the wraith on the opposite side shot a perfect mortar at me which cause my warthog to launch in the air and land dead center in front of that very wraith which inevitably killed me. My friend (In split screen) saw the entire show from his ghost and he just could not stop laughing. We had to have been sitting there for a good 5 minutes just laughing our asses off. It was so good, that memory always stuck with me.
