  • Last summer, my friends and I went back on halo 3 and played some online. We ended up in a full lobby and everyone had mics, which is something that hasn't happened in years. We convinced everyone to play through the whole slayer game melee only. It was team slayer on Construct and it was by far one of the best and funniest halo game i have ever played. (My team won btw, hehehehehe)

  • An untimed local match in Halo 2 with two of my friends. When we ended the score was Me: 109, Friend 1: 0, Friend 2: -1

  • "Let's find out if this game is just as good as everyone says". These are the words I tell myself as my friend puts the original Halo into Xbox. The logos and menus go through their cycle, and I jump straight into the campaign with him, bro style. We go through the tutorial, and once the covenant arrive we start shooting and doding, but then I realize something: this feels just as comfortable as my PC. We continue to fight until the level is over, then I look at him and say "I think I'm buying an Xbox tomorrow."

  • I've only ever played Halo 1, and this was on PC many years ago. A friend and I would always play through single player together, steal the one banshee on the bridge during the snowy level, and just ransack everything. Halo 1 and Battlefront 2 were pretty much the two games we bonded over most.

  • School night, late around 2am, Halo 2 Team Slayer, everyone on the team (great online friends) is whispering so not to get caught playing so late, really intense game, whispers start to get more common as everyone wants the win, gets to a 49-49 standoff, everyone is dead silent but all sticking together looking for the winning kill, I see it, I line up the headshot, BOOM HEADSHOT! I shout it out FPS Doug style, everyone is doing that "loudly whispering" laughing, giggling, cheering, and then I hear it, my dad walking towards my room, O.O realised how loudly I shouted, get caught, get punished, but absolutely the best win of my gaming life.

  • In 2008 Bondie 90 and myself were dual Warthoging the Maw run. After an tango with our vehicles left me flipped, and him racing away (laughing at my incompetence to drive) I chucked a plasma grenade high in the sky before being clobbered to death by the Flood surrounding me. As my death cam locked onto his rapidly moving position, from the heavens came a little blue ball that latched itself onto his rear tire. I watched with utter joy as it spun around the wheel until it detonated sending his lifeless body flying through the Pillar of Autumn.

  • My friends and I were having a Halo 3 Retro night and we decided to play KoTH on Guardian. In a moment of sheer epiphany I picked up Active Camo and decided to see how long I could stay in the hill, not firing a weapon, just running around. As it happened no one ever hit me and my friends were yelling at me asking how I was scoring up until the game ended. Only in a Bungie game can you win a First Person Shooter without a single shot fired.

  • Spring 2002, Senior year of high school, Halo "Spend the Night Thursdays". 20+ bros, 4 TVs & 4 OG XBoxes lan set-up. Play all night until we had to go to school Friday morning. Blood Gulch CTF and Hang Em High Team Slayer for hours. Real life blood was shed over the use of the Pistol.

  • My friends and I picked up Marathon just recently and had a HUGE flash back of how gaming use to be. By far the best moment I've had in a game in a while!

  • It was Halo 3, one night with a LAN party with 7 participants we decided to take it online in Big Team Battle. The gametype was Slayer with elite vehicles only on Sandtrap. We quickly took control of the game and eventually, all the vehicles as well. Rampaging throughout the map in our new found military unit, the "Ghost Buddies" with the two wraiths being the mama and papa ghost's. We all lined up for a family portrait, and even the mic-less random we got matched up with joined in the fun. Truly a night that wont easily be forgotten.

  • It was roughly midday on a hot summer day, I was at my friends house playing Halo: Reach and we had started a new sniping matchmaking game and had already gone through one round. In the previous round I had done, as expected for my skill level, horrible and been killed enough times to run out of lives within the first half of the first round. In this second round however, my team had the low ground and I expected this to mean certain doom. The round started so I began to walk straight up the hill and I noticed a blue object protruding from the top of the hill, I was red team, so I zoomed into max zoom on the Halo sniper rifle and waited for the object to get bigger, once it did, Bang! I heard the narrator say it First Blood and that was my proudest moment.

  • I had just moved back to Alaska from Germany in 2002. My brother and I always had Gameboys, and I was ready to move up the video game ladder. After befriending one of the kids I went to school with across the street, he introduced me to Halo. Needless to say, I never considered PlayStation again. My favorite memory was playing The Flood level at midnight, in the basement, with the lights off. One of the scariest and most fun experiences of my childhood, and solidified my love for Bungie and quest for world domination.

My favorite Bungie memory was in Halo 3. My friend and I arrived at the scarab in the level Covenant. We got in our hornets and attacked. As I was shooting at the scarabs legs, it started shooting at me. I decided to jump onto it.I looked to see the other scarab blow up. I destroyed the core and turned around. I yelled at my friend to drive his hornet to the front of the scarab. I ran to the front and jumped, barely grabbing his hornet and avoiding the blast by mere seconds.

  • My to this day favourite Bungie game was "Oni". My friends would come to my house after school so we could take turns playing it, all wanting to see how the amazing story would develop. Even when we finished it we just started again looking for all the amazing hidden things in the game which I am convinced I still haven't found all of. That game was an amazing accomplishment for its time and we group of 4 definitely gave it the time it deserved. The best moment was when my friend twisted around an enemy soldiers neck to then shoot an enemy in the head with his plasma rifle when landing. The original 360 head shot!

  • It was back in Halo 3, me and my friends were playing a custom football game. It was 1v3 because the friends on my team are watching T.V. while the others were scoring. I yelled out "I am Beowolf!" and proceeded to proceed down the runway with the ball. I pop a 360 on the first guy, kill the second, and make the 3rd guy fall off the map. I scored and all of them were quiet until my friend Joker screamed "he's the devil!" and got off of xbox. I filmed it and remind him of the match and the 1v1 after.

  • When going for Endure, all of my friends were killed in the final wave and I was left with no ammo, one brute left. I attempted to go for the assassination. As I rushed, he turned, firing a few rounds off. I hit him several times and then, with no space between us, he dropped a grenade at his feet. We both leapt away, and against all odds he was caught in the explosion. We got Endure. Getting so far with my friends, and being able to pull them through, made this my favorite Bungie moment.

My best friend and I playing Halo 2 2nd time around, i had never owned an Xbox and still never did, i have had 3 360's now though, but we were playing halo 2 campaign start to finish in 1 sitting, in his tiny room on his tiny couch on his tiny TV and we were like 6ft tall and were like 14, but we had the gameplay so loud and then we had eminem and Linkin Park blaring over the top, still one of my greatest memories of all time!

  • It was a Halo 3 lone wolf match on sandbox. I have the spartan lazer and i see someone out towards the desert area so i'm like why not. I start charging up. Halfway charged a chopper roles by, not in line of fire, 75% charged, the guy hops out and starts lining up 90% they are about to line up and im ready, 100%, they are lined up, now they are dead. That's how i got my first 2 for 1. Then my friend snipes me. Total moment killer. :P

  • Playing ODST with 3 of my old friends, trying in a desperate vain effort to unlock that final Vidmaster achivement. We spent hour after hour, day after day holding the line in The Office of Naval Intellegence HQ map. I remember panicking and hearing a whole team screaming into their headsets whenever a hunter pair or Brute Chieftan charged relentlessly toward us. But most of all, I remember that satisfaction, the absolute joy of seeing that achievement bleep across our collective screens after so many failures. It was a moment of pure, shared triumph. And I’ll never forget it.

  • Every friday night my friends and I would stay up and play Halo 3 custom games. My parents would always be yelling at me because i'd be so loud just having fun. Infection was always our favorite, and it never got old. Those were truly the best days of my life. Oh and when I got my first random sticky kill on valhalla!

  • So I was a pretty good gamer in 1986 when I got my first NES. I got out of gaming for many years, but some of my buddies were really die hard Halo fans. I kept wandering what all the fuss was about. The first time I put Halo 3 in and played on the pit I couldn't even hardly play the twin sticks, I remember being so lost, but I picked up the sniper and shot my buddy which by the way was a level 48! He was a beast compared to me, but I was hooked! Thanks Bungie!

  • Local, my forge map bridge in Halo Reach CTF "alright Concave, whats the strategy?" "Plan A. Grab a big gun, run to the other side and shoot everybody..." (long pause ensures) "Plan B, grab a vehicle, drive to the other side and run over everybody..." (even longer pause) "Well then, plan C, grab a big gun, grab a vehicle, drive to the other side run over and shoot everybody!!!" (lots of cheering commences) Announcer: "flag taken" (Lots of confusion) Random noob: "did they just-" Concave: "yes, yes they did" And so began the greatest CTF game, of all time, ever.

  • My favorite Bungie moment was back when I had just bought Halo 2. I had seven friends over and one of them brought his TV and another Xbox. We set the TVs up back-to-back and played 4v4 any variation of team slayer we could come up with from 8PM til 6am the next morning. At one point, my brother and I, who had much experience than most of the others, started playing against everyone else, 2v6, and still destroyed them. Best night ever!

It was around 10 years ago, two of my friends and I were going against our ultimate nemesis, the Maw. We had yet again reached the generator room but this time it was different from all the previous times in the past two years where we had spent hours just taking Sentinels down, not knowing what to do. But this time I understood enough to do what was required of us. I grabbed a grenade. I took hold of the rocket launcher. And I rode to victory. It was joy in awe.
