• A fond memory of mine is the Steaktacular challenge. My friends and I played for hours and discovered that the true challenge was getting into a game with a Bungie employee, and fighting of hordes of steak-thirsty super fans that crossed our path while we awaited an unmistakable blue flame. While waiting for a match, we told jokes about Cookie Crisps, which look like cookies but taste like grits. Then we realized we had been playing against Bungie all along. I shut off the Xbox, grabbed some left over steak from the fridge, and munched gingerly until falling asleep.

  • I still remember, It was exactly four years ago, on Bungie Day 2009 My friend and I woke up at 5:30 AM in hope that we could fight them. It was almost impossible to get a match versus Bungie. Fortunately, luck was on our side. At 7:30:07 we finally found them. I was so nervous and excited to play with the people that made Halo 3. It was tough battle at first; however we manage to pull off a win. Left this message 4 years ago, still relevant. I made my friend who was piloting a banshee commit suicide just by using a hologram. It was invasion on Spire. I sent out my hologram, the banshee launched its flue rod cannon and back flipped - right into the pipes passing over the side of the map. It killed him. So I managed to take out the (arguable) most over powered thing in the game with the (arguably) most under powered thing in the game.

  • Reciever Halo 3 Legendary Ed. As a gift from my parents after I finished basic training. Played for about 4 days before my Xbox red ringed. Went out and bought a new Xbox with my military money the next day to finish the fight.

  • Myth: The Fallen Lords (Demo) It is a cold winter day, but only in the computer. My soldiers have been decimated, mostly by friendly fire from a sadistic dwarf, but I am still confident of victory; the dwarf swallowed one of his own Molotov cocktails. No one remaining is uninjured, but my soldiers are battle hardened. Off in the distance I see something large and gray. “Last guy looks easy. Go kill him so I can play.” My younger brother is a convincing snake. The Trow kicks my small band to pieces. Hope flees and so does my brother.

  • After a 3 months of owning a Xbox, my first Bungie day was spent getting complimented on Reach for having a Blue Flaming Helmet. After being socially awkward for a very long time, this was very exciting.

It’s the summer of 2005 and we are in the final round in the towns Championship. We are forced to win because we are the undefeated Halo team in town. The map is "Lockout" and there is no super-jumping. Alex is the assassin, Edgar is the brute, Daniel is the sniper, and I ‘m the tactician and team leader. The match is close, but with his trusty shotgun, Edgar puts us 48-47. Daniel snipes and I fire my BR and take out two. Somehow Alex manages to jump off the ledge and get the final kill as he is falling.

  • It's Capture the Flag on Waterworks with three minutes left on the clock. The score is 2 to 1, we're losing. Two Spartans and myself decide to try and score one last time. We get into a Warthog and travel stealthy to our opponent's base. We pull up to its side; I get out, hop onto the roof, down to the flag, and run out to the rendezvous. There's one minute left on the clock. Our opponents stop their premature celebrations. We race both our opponents and the time back to our base to finish the game with a tie.

  • Last level of Halo 3 campaign; me and a friend had killed Sgt. Avery Johnson ourselves for his wonderful spartan laser knowing he'd get up and forgive us but not before we triggered the cutscene the final fight versus Guilty Spark, little did we know after his epic defeat, we'd return to the hallway to see Sgt. Johnson (killed a second before) waiting to join us in sweet, sweet glory. Gods be damned I'd never leave him behind. Nothing was more beautiful than flying into Forward Unto Dawn with him by our side. It wasn't cameo but... no more heartache.

  • There I was, shield flashing red. Ready to die. But I didn't give up, I did not surrender. It is not over until the respawn drops you back in. He thought he had me. But I had my sniper. As he laughed, I coolly aimed down my sights. One shot and he joined me, shield-less. We both laughed and he cried as I fired one burst into his Spartan's head. It was over. -respawn-

My dad went out for "Milk" and came back with Halo Combat evolved and an xbox. Me him and my older brother played halo until the early hours. The campaign blew me away even at the age 10. We then moved onto the multiplayer and the pair of them destroyed me. I was so angry about this that I got everyone to get me an xbox and halo for my birthday, I played it over and over on legendary, The Truth and reconciliation was often the level of choice, sniper training. After a few months I played my brother and dad again, lets just say that we rarely played halo multiplayer again.

  • So my friend Derek and I were playing Slayer on Narrows a few years ago. We were losing about 17-7. He had just ordered a pizza before the match and it came in halfway through. When he started eating while playing, things happened. A rocket spawned, and so did plasma grenades. He picked them up and went on a running riot. Bungie bless the pepperoni.

  • Lan Halo 3 at a school lock in. 4v4 Slayer with 1 life per round on narrows. Last round and we had 1 man left the other had 3. My friend sticks one guy and no scopes the last 2 to win. We all freak out and start jumping and yelling, but one of us knocked over the 360 and ruined the disc! So then we went to Walmart at 3AM with our teacher to buy another copy to keep playing.

  • Christmas of 2001: after being tricked into thinking we weren't getting an xbox, my brother (12 at the time) and I (7 at the time) got Halo CE. We spent the entire day and night on the floor of our living room playing coop. Finished it on legendary. That is the best memory of my brother I have from my childhood. We repeat the ritual for each new bungie game <3

  • Halo 3 Lan parties were by far the best time I have ever had playing a Bungie game, specifically Halo 3. We would all set our systems up in one of our friends basement and play Halo until we couldn't anymore. Free for all, Team Snipers, KOTH, Team Slayer were all of the gametypes that we enjoyed as well as custom games like Fat Kid and Old Men on Scooters!!! Those Lan parties will be times that I will never forget for the rest of my life. The result of my favorite Lan party that we ever had is linked above. Things got a little crazy..

  • When I first arrived at college in 2004, I loved Halo, but I didn’t know how other people felt about it. I soon found out and quickly became part of a multi-floor, multi-room, every-day, system linked Halo party. We connected our Xboxs through the dorm’s Ethernet network; four rooms on different floors, each playing split-screen. We used conference call on the dorm room phones so our teams could yell at each other. It’s the most fun I’ve ever had playing Halo, the most fun I’ve ever had playing multiplayer, the most fun playing period.

  • One of my favorite times playing Halo, was during a LAN party of Halo Reach. I invited a bunch of my friends from school, guys and girls, to my dads work and we just dug in, gamed, ate pizza, and drank pop. The most fun we had was during a game of Speed Halo (Watch Youtube video), where my friends and I got going so fast we ended up killing ourselves. Thank-you Bungie for all of the great games you have put out! -Wonger 143

  • My favorite memory was a Halo 3 LAN party I had for my birthday 6 years ago. I convince 4 of my friends to bring in their xboxes and we played on 5 different tv's. We were laughing and eating pizza while playing all sorts of customs. Our favorite thing to do was fast zombies, everyone only gets a pistol and spawns by a fleet of mongooses (mongeese idk) and 2 Gauss hogs. With 15 people all fighting over the vehicles, some ended up walking. We played until 6 am then woke back up at 10 to finish off the soda and everyone went home.

I had a stunning moment of realization while watching the epilogue after a co-op run through on Halo: Reach; I had unknowingly made Bungie a benchmark for entertainment. They create more than just a goal, they create a journey which I could experience with my friends, old and new. Along this journey, we got to make moments all our own; full of laughs, tears, swearing, and new stories of our own to tell. Even in the most static of environments, they made room to play and explore. What thought triggered this grand insight? “My god, Bungie… I feel… feelings!!!”

  • A platform built high above the surface of Sandbox fades into view. My friends and I enter the Warthogs closest to each of us with only one goal: survive. The Warthogs roared as their engines were gunned. We crashed our vehicles with reckless abandon, flipping our opponents off the stage, forming and breaking alliances with each other. One by one, Warthogs were knocked off the platform, until only I and one other remained. We smashed our Warthogs head on, but as my friend caught air, he was flung from the stage. And I was left the lone victor.

Bungie Day 2010, When I logged on to Halo 3, I thought there was so many hackers. Everyone had fire on the heads and I forgotten that it was Bungie Day :P and then i grew to understand and I was amazed :D oh that awesome fire on my head. Later 4 of my other friends went in a custom game and created some awesome pictures and played for the rest of the day in custom games. Oh how I wish I could experience that joy again. Nearly better than unlocking the Katana :)

    • Team Slayer 4v4 Standoff map The game is nearing the end with the Blues only needing two kills to win while we need 4. We need to take out their warthog to win this game, so i grab the plasma grenades. The Hog comes around and i time it perfectly on its front left tire, as the grenade blows up my friend uses the brute shot to send the hog flying towards blue base. i send another plasma towards the projected landing spot of the hog and once again time it perfectly, all 4 blues get blown up.
