  • How? I could spend the same amount of money that the PS4 is worth (near to £400) and get a better PC that would last longer: Every PC game is cheaper by around £10 and I don't have to pay a yearly subscription of £40 so if I buy 3 new games a year then I save £70 in total per year. The Xbox One and the PS4 are supposed to last 10 years so I will save in total £700. With that £700 I could but accessories, upgrades, more games or even buy and then make a new PC! Plus I can get DLC for less and my game replayability is twice of the console version because I can use mods! I would support indie games that later get ported (with a larger price tag) to consoles like the PS4 so frankly, No - They are in no way whatsoever cheaper in the long run.

Building a $400 computer means limiting yourself on sooooo many different features. There IS a reason consoles are favorited, and that is because companies cut deals that make internals cost less, therefore making consoles cheaper. Xbox One(eighty) might do away with subscription based deals. Destiny is not a game that you can mod. That is like saying World of Warcraft is modable. It simply isn't because of the client-server structure Bungie seems to be hinting at means that on a PC, you need to have the same content as everyone else to be able to play. In order for a PC to last 10 years, you would have to invest at least $1,500. You would need something like a 7970, a Titan, or some other high-performance card and a processor two putting out AT LEAST 3.7ghz. Even then it would be a stretch. PC games are cheaper, but keep in mind that they also require maintenance. They require your buy virus protection (if you are even semi intelligent, at least), plus computer accessories. If you make a DECENT gaming PC for $2000, and assume it costs $30 a year in maintenance/ buying new accessories/upgrading, then suddenly that's $2,300 It costs $50 a year to play an Xbox online. It costs $500 for an Xbox One(Eighty). In ten years it costs $1000. Now assume you buy 30 games for each system over than 10 year span 30x$60 is 1800, versus 30x$50 is $1,500. Which means a PC is $3,800 and an Xbox One(eighty) is $2,800. You save $1,000 going console. Does this mean a console is better? In an economical and sales standpoint yes! But in terms of raw power and getting the most of a game then PC wins hands down, but not that many people can afford it. Little math and a lot of common sense goes a long way

£400 = roughly $600 And that would give me the specs: 4.4Ghz Quad Core CPU 16GB DDR3 2400Mhz RAM Nvidia GTX 660 Ti + 2GB GDDR5 RAM 500GB HDD You tell me whether that is good value for money. ^ It's all about investment though; spend the extra time finding the best offer for the parts then buy them! And don't forget that because I'm paying slightly less for the game (£10 so about $15) and I don't pay for a subscription (£40 so about $60) every year I am saving a lot of money which I can then spend on the upgrades if necessary.

  • I have no idea what numbers ur useing...im american And yes the console itself is cheaper than buying and building a gameing PC. Console $500 bam good for 8 years ( just have to get the warranty ) and dont feed me this bullshit about a gameing PC build for $500 it would take atleast $800 to build anything worth ur time. Plus parts break on PC's. And dont bring up anything about an online service fee....cause and this is where i got bored and decided to stop typeing because i dont are anymore

  • Are you retarded? £400 is about $600 or $700. So stop saying that whenever I use the currency of GBP it is exactly the same as the American Dollar! It isn't and i never said that it is. A good PC for about £500 or $800 would last 10 years, can be ugraded instead of replaced, can run more games, can be used for more (e.g. internet and live-streaming + access to any and all websites), can run games at higher graphical settings to look better, etc... And parts are less likely to break on a properly made PC than they were on an Xbox 360 (Red Ring of Death was caused by overheating causing parts to break). Deal with it.

  • Omg this guy is such a tool lol...ur "burning" me? i dont understand why you cant just...accept the fact that in the overall scheme of things consoles are a little bit cheaper than a good PC

  • They're not though. You would spend in the 10 years that a console lasts around £1000 or more (that's about $1500 or more) when I would spend £600 or about $900. Up front for a console you pay less but over the next few years you pay for a subscription and extra money for games so overall in terms of value for money and the duration for which it lasts; PCs are better!

  • Why cant u understand your wrong? to play top notch games over the years you have to upgrade at LEAST every 3 years...unless you just dont care...to where as consoles the games are made to specifics for the hardware requireing me to pay ... wait for it $0 in parts!! in 2 years!!!

  • That's not true though. If I get a really good PC then I won't need to upgrade it or - if I didn't - I can spend the money that I saved by not having to continuously buy subscription services on the parts that I need to upgrade. E.g. when you spend $50 a year on Xbox Gold I can spend $150 to buy a new part after three years.

  • You won't need to get antivirus if you don't go onto websites with Viruses. And once again you're proving my point about knowing little to nothing about PCs... -_-

  • Accually you just proved your own point...anti virus is a must for anyone that wants a PC that will last for years. Well that just pretty much ended our arguement, proveing that in fact you know nothing and should probbly go into the corner and crawl into a feetal position and cry. GG sir.

  • You're lack of grammar and spelling knowledge is making me cringe. Please leave. And no, if I wanted a PC then I would use it for browsing legitimate websites and playing games. Neither of those are likely to give you Viruses. Therefore you only need antivirus software if you visit sketchy websites and open spam e-mails. I don't need, want or have antivirus and haven't for 3 odd years on this PC. Why? Because I have the sense not to get a virus in the first point. So no I didn't prove my own point; I destroyed yours now be quiet because you're making yourself seem incredibly uneducated.
