Selling things to people, thoughts?

So, I just made my first iPhone case design for public sale. Here it is. It was honestly just an obscure way for me to make a custom iPhone case but, technically, it can be bought by anybody now through Society6. Have you guys ever sold your own work before? Be it a song, artwork, literature, a physical thing, whatever? Were you nervous about how it would be received or were you confident that it'd be well-liked? I know I was worried it'd not be liked even though it probably won't be seen anyway, but someone on the site "Promoted" it within the last 10-15 minutes of it having been uploaded so that's cool. For added conversation: have you guys ever used Society6 before for iPhone cases or anything else? I've gotten 3 cases from them and I've liked every one, it's pretty cool how open it is to artists and lets them make money off of their designs.
