This song screams internal conflict. On the surface, everything seems normal. But on the inside, something is ripping you apart(yes, I'm trying to avoid other linkin park lines in this). That something is something you brought upon yourself, and only you have to power to let go of it. "I don't want to be the one the battles always choose" you don't want your internal battles to dictate your life, or escape out and drive away your friends and family. "I don't know what's worth fighting for Or why I have to scream I don't know why I instigate And say what I don't mean I don't know how I got this way I'll never be alright So I'm breaking the habit I'm breaking the habit tonight" This whole stanza is about getting rid of your bad habit, even though you don't really know why, you just know you have to do it. Be it drugs, gambling, what have you. TL;DR Stop being lazy.
