Disclaimer : Rant
School ended, I walk out the ally, I make sure no cars are coming on the street, and I walk. A cop tells me to come over, and he writes me up. Some women was also jaywalking and I pointed her out and said 'Are YOU going to write her up too?' He just said 'Someone will get her'....BUT THERE TWO OTHER COPS JUST SITTING HERE!
I'm not mad about the ticket, I broke a law and will show up and pay for it (in the judge doesn't drop it) but what irks me is other people are also breaking the same law I broke and they aren't getting in trouble.
Plus, this is my first ticket ever, I couldn't get a damn warring. >:\

1 ReplyA ticket for walking? HAHAHAHAHAHA 1st off I crossed where ever I wanted when I went to the US and nothing happened. 2nd in the UK you are meant to cross at a designated crossing but nobody gives a crap if you don't use it, you can legally cross a motorway but its advised not to.
-
I was going to suggest you should also get a ticket for bad English, but you spelled "irks" correctly so you get pass.
-
I had completely forgotten that jaywalking was a crime until now.
-
Some cop tried to write me up for jaywalking once. He saw me cross a busy street and he said "Hey do you know what jaywalking is?". I just said no and kept walking he was so fat that if he tried to write me up I would have just ran away and I think he knew it too lol
-
Before there were proper traffic lights installed in my town, it would take up to 15 minutes to cross the street at the crosswalk at a busy time. I'd jay walk in a fraction of the time to avoid it, but that wasn't very safe ofc

1 ReplyHow much is the ticket?
-
1 ReplyThat's bullshit. If there's no cars coming, it's not fucking jaywalking.
-
2 RepliesReally!? You actually got a ticket for that!? Man, the cops must have been having a slow day. I bet as long as you show up in court/magistrates office they'll drop it. How much was it for?
-
As a rule, I only jaywalk in my own neighbourhood.
-
4 RepliesI jaywalk all the time and I live next to a police station. No one's ever bothered me about it. #swag
-
1 ReplyPeople actually get tickets for jaywalking???
-
1 ReplyJaywalking laws are the most idiotic laws out there. Recommended crossing spots? Fine. Required in cities? Fine. Anywhere else? Stupid.
-
2 RepliesGood, jaywalkers are the worst. They make crosswalks so people in cars don't have to constantly be on guard for morons who think they own the road. I hope it sticks.
-
1 ReplyWhen you appear in court you will have an option to appeal.
-
2 RepliesThey actually give tickets for that? I would've laughed, given him the finger and walked off.
-
1 ReplyGood, I hate it when people jaywalk. There are crosswalks for a reason.
-
*can cross the road wherever i please* America sure is a crazy place.
-
1 ReplyJaywalking is serious business. You should get 20-life for that
