Iron Banner is around with legacy focusing available for old fun and powerful loot. There are some huge issues however, mainly each focus costing 25k glimmer, as opposed to the 15k from literally every other vendor legacy focus. 10k more glimmer per focus adds up extremely fast, and makes it stupidly user unfriendly to obtain a good roll of an old weapon.
One of the biggest contributors to this issue is how much glimmer is obtained from pvp matches. Per my data collection (albeit small), matches drop an average of roughly 5k glimmer using the maximum glimmer boosting ghost mod, with extra coming from dismantling bad drops. Playing potentially 4-5 matches in order to focus a SINGLE old weapon, half of which can’t even be enhanced, is absolutely unreasonable.
What is the line of thinking behind this? Bottlenecking glimmer costs for old, mostly powercrept weapons is just… odd, at best. It’s not difficult to bring the focusing costs in line with every other legacy vendor, but as is the costs give the players an extremely negative impression, and shies many away from obtaining and trying old weapons.

1 ReplyYeah, I've already given Saladin about 1 million glimmer and got nowhere near the roll I wanted on a single weapon, it is demoralising.

I agree with you that the weapons are desirable... ...so I've never played as many EDZ public events making them heroic, grabbing patrol, chests (can drop useful old world drop weapons) and resources and on to the next heroic and some Lost Sectors in between (6k <1min for some LS... but not always 6k.. maybe 1st time you do them... can't figure it out..) anyway public events on EDZ was what I did and bought tons of stuff I've been complaining on this for a while.. Bungie has done nothing and some players who don't buy anything will say I'm always at 500k... its not the worst thing in the world but I shoulda been playing IB pvp not goin to PEe on the EDZ -
I miss the days when you could stock pile up on materials and sell them to Rahool for glimmer.
