like in the 1st stage of grief, I still can't believe how bungie killed D2, it's just criminal wat they did
we also tried, in different ways, get anger, bargain, get depressed.
eventually we'll accept because there's nothing else to do.
this heavy weight of doom and gloom is mourning for a loved game we used to play so much that was let aside, rotting, to die, with no hint of the future - because there'll be none, otherwise ANYTHING would be told to players besides "wait until june" (when the live service game will go into maintenance mode).

I mean, this has been coming for a long time. I have come to terms with it and I’m kinda thankful they cured the addiction I had to the game. Enjoyed my time, disagree with what they’ve done, but we’re moving on.

The “Stop Killing Games” Debate currently going through the European Parliament is looking like a New Law will be passed there to stop/prevent:- Taking away content Consumers have purchased (sunsetting/“vaulting”) Turning the Game Servers Off arbitrarily, thereby removing content/product that you’ve purchased without compensation being offered as a remedy. Interesting times indeed.

2 RepliesIt’s been a hard acceptance. Destiny will never be the same again, and it saddens me. We all had a good run, though. I hadn’t played since February, but hopped into crucible with one of my best friends (who I met through Destiny 1 via Kings Fall) over the weekend and had a good time. The game is winding down. I just wish Bungie would say so. That being said, Division 2 is quite fun, and is getting so much support. After 10+ years of Destiny, I didn’t think I’d find/return to a game that I enjoyed as much. Nothing lasts forever, but I do highly recommend it. Only played the first year of Division 2, and picked the game up again about a month ago to play with a friend. It’s genuine fun.

Just end it. The game is over. The scenery looks the same but it’s a different world.

All the old guys that built Destiny off of Halo are gone and this company’s been a 💩 show since D1 released the way it did. The people running it now are all weird tech bros who have just work there and have nothing invested in it.

Bungo has to be losing money as well. The last event (Guarding games) as tempted as I was to buy all 3 armor sets. I did not because I don't know for how much longer I will play this game. I figured if I am still playing next time Guardian games comes around, I will buy it then. I know I am not the only who feels this way, as I have friends and clan members who feel the same way. That is why I never bought Marathon seemed like a cash grab game. Launched as a dumpster fire as in low player base and looks like it will die soon. I already spent enough on D1 and 2 and I am not falling for the shady Marathon wipe your vault and charge for season pass scam. Prove to me Bungo you still want me to spend on anything you offer.

Not sure how people are arguing against this anymore. The lowest player count in the history of the game shows it’s way beyond a natural dip due to played through content

I'm already in the acceptance stage. Sure, I'll fire up Destiny for events, but I've been playing so many other games that I don't even care what happens to Destiny. If it dies, it dies. It's not our fault Bungie neglected their own product.

This is actually the first time I’ve been on this forum in over a month as well, I was curious how the moral was, it’s about what I expected lol. I’ll be back if they give us a new subclass or something really cool, but tbh I have my doubts Bungie will still be around by this time next yr.

I’m sorry, Bungie “Killed Destiny 2?” Um… no, no. It was merciless, cold-blooded murder. I agree with you, Bungie had a great game and they completely destroyed it. Just like the way they destroyed our trust.

It's been going downhill for a while. Imo, they need to just kill it. The Witness was the ultimate boss of bosses. You seriously expect the vanguard to be scared of the Conductor lol. Or a weakened Xivu Aarath. The biggest problem was, creative really didn't have a plan post Witness.

I just found a great group to play with mostly people who have only been playing a year or so... Games not dead yet... So please stop scaring the new lights away or it will be... All this bad press is not helping...

I was a Halo fanatic all the way to Halo 5. I was a Destiny 2 player for 6 years. Bummer to see franchises wane over time. Appreciate what you have done in this game. There are lots off other games out there to discover. I'm here until the servers are down but I'm also playing other games..
