Honestly I just think they should get rid of subclasses altogether and put everything into prismatic.

I wouldn't mind that either. Just add a system where equipping all of the same element causes some sort of synergy effect, where the effects are stronger but have stricter requirements. That way, Prismatic could be the Jack of all trades master of none (I'd give it its own combo effects as well).
