There used to be three, before the Monument to Lost Lights was put in the middle one's spot in Beyond Light.
I personally don't need more space as I barely use 25% of what is in my vault, the rest is just nice to have as a collection.

Three? I only recall the system we have now and it's been the same since d1.

I'm pretty sure they meant there was 3 screens that could be used to access the vault in the tower. The exotic kiosk replaced 1 of those screens, so now it's only the ones on either side of it.
