Game Freezes, then crashes to Desktop without any error codes

Hi, I've been having this issue only with Destiny 2 and no other game, where everything seems to be working fine, then its happening very frequently. For the last 4-5 days, the game freezes for 3-4 seconds and then crashes back to the desktop without any error codes. I've seen a number of posts about it on social media stretching back months/years from others and tried a few solutions but nothing has fixed it so far. This freezing -> crashing can happen in the middle of heavy combat or just browsing inventory. There does not seem to be anything specific ingame that triggers it. Specs as follows: OS Name Microsoft Windows 11 Pro Version 10.0.26100 Build 26100 Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D BIOS Version: 2506 Motherboard: ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI RAM: 32GB - G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB DDR5 GPU: Zotac GTX 1080 Mini. - Driver version 566.36 I had PBO turned on with all cores negative offset by -10, RAM on EXPO 1. Also, tried dropping the power limit of the GPU to 85% (Since one of the potential issues that I read was the brilliant coding in D2 causes sudden spikes in the GPU power draw and this makes the gpu to shut down, thus causing the game to crash). Also lowered graphics settings and limited fps to 72 via vsync (I easily get over 100 normally even with everything cranked up) Another user said it was solved by disabling gaming overlays. I disabled windows gaming overlay through powershell and it didn't do anything. No anti virus, internet security, firewalls blocking the application. At the moment, I've turned PBO off, set the RAM back to default 4800mhz (From 6000), trying to see if it solves the issue. This is one of the logs from Windows Event Viewer: Faulting application name: destiny2.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000 Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00007ff6ebb6982a Faulting process id: 0x18E4 Faulting application start time: 0x1DB6BA0D3333DE4 Faulting application path: F:\Steam\steamapps\common\Destiny 2\destiny2.exe Faulting module path: unknown Report Id: 624af65d-3205-444e-9e74-48138cdec059 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: List of things I haven't tried: - reverting to an older version of nvidia driver - moving the game file to another drive

Hi there, Thanks for reaching out, and for all the information already provided! Looking at your DxDiag report, we noticed that Xbox Gaming Overlay and Razer Game Manager Service seem to be behind many of the incidents. To that point, could you try disabling those applications completely when running Destiny 2 and see if the situation improves? Also, as the issue may be related to memory usage and/or your graphics card, please try lowering your graphics settings as another potential fix. If the issue persists after trying the potential solutions above, please let us know.

    • So an update as mentioned above- kept the cpu, ram and gpu to default settings and ran D2 for around 4 hours earlier. Surprisingly no crashes. Will run it for a bit longer under these conditions to see if it is stable or encounters any crashes. After that, I'll turn on PBO, negative offset the curve to -10 on all cores, turn on EXPO I for the ram to hit 6000mhz and check stability.
