I been saying this forever. We need world bosses that drop crazy loot with huge mechanics. Basically Excision level events in each planet. The game engine will probably blow up within the instances... Maybe not.

    well I'm not sure about all that. I was just thinking better world building, more streamlined locations, a more open world feel, updates to archaic structures, and generally more things to do. To elaborate, I'll use the EDZ as an example: 1. For worldbuilding, the Red Legion need to be removed entirely, they are canonically extinct. There's no reason for the Shadow Legion to be in their old territories either, so make their bases run down and picked apart by Fallen or something similar. 2. for streamlined locations, combine some of the smaller, less important zones and open them up a bit. For example, mesh the Gulch, the Sludge, and the Salt Mines together, maybe combine Trostland and the Outskirts, etc. 3. for the feeling of an open world, utilize every location in a destination, or at least have it available to freely explore. For example, allow players to patrol Hangman's Pass and the Dark Forest. 4. for structure updates, reprise old Lost Sectors, Public Events, and Patrols. Make these things viable, either through expansion, better replayability, or repurposing them into different systems. 5. for more things to do, add larger events to participate in on old destinations, similar to something like Altars of Sorrow, Terminal Overload, or Overthrow, though make them less clinical. This could even include reprising old seasonal activities like Vex Offensive on the Moon or Astral Alignment in the Blind Well, though not quite as large . Also, smaller events like Adventures, and adding a Heroic/Hard Mode Patrol would be really cool. 6. vendors would need loot updates too, and for that'd I'd say give them a Craftable set of Legacy weapons, and a new set of non-craftable experimental weapons which have interesting perk combos and mostly meta perks. They'll also need armor set reprisals with set bonuses, and maybe a few other things. I think even just a few of these changes would vastly improve old patrol zones and could even be story relevant. I've been thinking about this for a long time, and any time they reuse an old location and haven't updated it, it kinda pisses me off because of how much potential is wasted there. I know some people are annoying and picky, but we don't need new content every week, we need the content we get to last and be fun to play.
