You will need to work with Microsoft/Xbox to recover the account.
If you can't get the account recovered then your cross-save setup is permanently stuck active with the Xbox account included. Bungie won't step in to forcibly remove it or to deactivate cross-save.
One further thing, you can add more accounts to the setup without needing the Xbox login but you won't be able to remove them once they're added.

I had a 30 day window to recover the Microsoft account (Which has passed) and I already feel less cluttered and I don't really want to open that can of worms back up. I was thinking that maybe I can disable Cross Play entirely for awhile and then try to enable it again after the grief period. If that's a thing with the XBOX Profile I wanted?
