Remember a while back, when people on this forum were making posts about how stale the game had gotten and there were no secrets or surprises anymore? Oh well, best to just drop everything in our laps right out of the gate and remove any "thrill of discovery" now that players are as impatient as children already waiting for next Christmas on January 1st. Maybe these ideas will put a stopper in some of the mass unrest, and we can have a bit of peace for a change.*🤞 *Who am I kidding? 😂

I'm not saying tell us everything, but a lot of cool stuff is happening in the next few months... It could help morale right now. And stop telling us other stuff, haters gonna hate... Why let them leverage their misery against the community like they do? There's no reason to share that info until the patch notes, until you can experience the changes in-game... promoting a more rational discourse less sullied by negative grandstanding and hyperbolics. That's what I think. Communicating that stuff early only hurts the game. Except in rare cases. I'm still enjoying the game. The game is still great. The dominant talking points do not match the state of the game, imo.

  • I know you're not suggesting we be told everything but with this community it's an "inch and mile" scenario; we get a tiny glimpse, and people are demanding to know everything. As for morale, I'm of the opinion some leverage their whole existence on this game and if there's even the slightest bit of negative experience (or large, depending on who you ask), the whole of humanity is doomed to extinction. And yes, I went in heavy on the hyperbole and metaphor, but I thought it fitting, lol. The patch notes, well, I don't see a winning outcome no matter what route Bungie goes. Regardless of what it says and whether we get a heads-up in advance or the day of, it's inevitable that it'll fall short of expectations simply because too many have unreasonable expectations. Even if they are met, somehow those malcontents will find the most insignificant slip up and turn it into a full-on crisis. That, I don't feel is hyperbolic and may in fact be understating things. I still play and enjoy the game myself and as I told someone else earlier this evening, hope costs nothing and so here's to hoping! 🍻

  • All you need to do... It's standard in many games I've played. "Subject to Change". Setting the expectations as "these are our targets" but the release might be different per time constraints, bugs, etc. Also, I hate fluff... they WAY overhyped those livestreams, that should have been one, if at all. Maybe we don't need a TWiD every week as the standard? There's that Norm MacDonald bit about the news... It used to be the news was just 30 mins to an hr once a day, and there was still some stupid story about a squirrel skiing or some s***. 😅 Back then we had it right, that's about all the news there is. It's the cycle of negativity, it's ******* people up.

  • My personal preference for avoiding spoilers leads me to ignore the various vidocs or whatever they're called because I actually do still find satisfaction in seeing things firsthand when they drop as opposed to having everything revealed before I even have the chance to play the content. My take on the news? Unfortunately, my brother insists on keeping me apprised of all the unsavory goings-on which leads me to believing I made the correct choice in avoiding any of that too. So much sensationalism these days it always reminds me of the Don Henley song 'Dirty Laundry.'
