(I feel like ranting about this game because it’s really cool.)
Until You Fall is a VR game developed by Schell Games, creators of the I Expect You to Die series. The game is a hack-and-slash roguelite with realistically weighted weapons that you can permanently upgrade in the lobby of the game, but then as you play the actual game, can temporarily upgrade for that run. You can block hits from enemies, you can dash, and when the enemy’s guard is down, you deal critical health damage.
Alright, now onto the part where I actually tell my thoughts on the game.
This game is just straight-up fun. There are 16 different weapons and they are so much fun to mix and match. I have recently completed the game on the easiest difficulty after 4 hours of game time and it was just so cool. The sword fighting feels so good and the boss fights are so challenging. The different enemies to deal with all have their own quirks. It’s just cool.
It’s also a really good workout. Swinging your arms so much will make you work up a sweat. It is super fast-paced and will leave you a little tired.
I let out a resounding “LET’S FRICKIN’ GO!” at the beating the final boss. The game is difficult, but just the right amount of difficulty, not in a “I’m swarmed, I can't do anything, I have no chance,” way, more in a “That was hard, I see what I did wrong, I can improve,” way.
It’s just a cool game, and the music is also amazing as well (Welcome to Rokar goes hard). I love this game so much. I would tell anyone with PSVR or a Quest headset to definitely play this game, $16.99 is more than an incredible price for this game based on the time you can get out of it. I’m currently at about 5 and a half hours of gameplay and I have so much longer to go.
