On my first week of playing Destiny I was given a generic name to the tune of Guardian6757 with some smattering of numbers. My friends advised me that I would be able to change this name to something else via the profile settings on the bungie.net website. Before attempting this process the option is given to link your bungie account to an existing account that exists on steam, twitch, stadia, etc. upon doing so I linked my steam account and my old PSN. During the name change process you are given the option to use the usernames from your linked accounts. My desire was to use the username that I have on steam. I clicked that option and nothing would happen. I received no error code, the page did not appear to be loading in anyway. to my knowledge the page was simply not working. In a moment of frustration I started to try the other UI elements on the page. This is the moment I have regretted since I began my journey as a guardian. What I clicked on was the icon to use my username from PSN which then forever locked me into being known as: [quote]Xbetty_crockerX_#2276[/quote] My friends realized instantly what this meant for me; I was horrified to find out that I would be forever be associated with delicious cakes. I realize now in hindsight that the website was working properly but that the username I had been trying to change to was simply invalid and that upon selecting the PSN option that my fate was sealed. All I am asking for is another chance to undo my momentary short sightedness. Free me from the hilarious shackles of being told "Betty Crocker get on the plate" during raid encounters.
